Has anyone tried the gender prediction test you can get off amazon that you wee on and apparently tells you gender of baby? Just curious to see who has tried it I know its just for fun really but heard some good reviews xx

What a waste of money! If these worked, the NHS would offer them instead of a gender scan.

Bubblebell1 · 18/06/2012 12:49

Do the nhs give gender scans?

Bubblebell1 · 18/06/2012 12:50

Oh and a friend of mine bought one and it predicted wrong.
Test Said girl but scan and birth of her 3rd dc showed boy Grin

Bubble bell - some trusts do. Some let you know the sex at the 20wk scan, others don't.

I know its just for fun otherwise they would be so much more expensive just wanted to know if anyone did one. Xxxz

Hi

I did one but really just for fun. It said I was expecting a girl so time will tell if it is right. I think your 20 week scan can sometimes show you what you are having but will just depend on how your baby is lying so never 100% correct!

cheers

I am tempted to get one just to see what it says xx

I tried the Amazon test - it was meant to be pink for a girl and blue for a boy. Mine came up purple. Great help that was then!

All the other tests, Chinese gender predictor etc and baking soda said I was having a girl. I had a girl. Made entirely of Krispy Kreme doughnuts I believe - my only craving...

kirdy · 18/06/2012 16:16

Lol! What's the baking soda one? Don't think I have heard of that xx

Try the ring test! It worked for all my friends and it's free!

kirdy · 18/06/2012 19:18

Yeah I did that one it said girl boy girl boy. Which is right so far as I have a girl and boy already. Want to know how the baking soda one works??

ginmakesitallok · 18/06/2012 19:21

it doesn't work kirdy - that's the point??Confused

SillyCalamari · 18/06/2012 22:31

I recently saw them for sale in a reputable pharmacy in US but didn't buy as I'd already had my scan. No idea if they work but would be surprised to see them on sale if there were no evidence of them working. Mind you, they sell homeopathy so you never know...!
BTW hospitals don't scan you primarily to tell you what gender you're having, it's about detecting abnormalities. Gender identification is an added bonus. So that's no reason not to trust these tests.

DiffedAgainDachs · 19/06/2012 14:32

Baking soda test - you put some in a disposable cup or something, then add urine. If it fizzes it's a boy, if it doesn't it's a girl... :)
