DSs both have two names each (forename and middle name).

Makes it too hard to think of names if you have more, I think

Do you mean three middle names so baby would be Ichabod Frankoleum Disaster Manly Smith?

goldstarlover · 24/02/2006 19:43

my baby has one!

think 3 is a bit much... but it's up to you!

Kelly1978 · 24/02/2006 19:44

first two had two each, second two had one each. I guess we were running out of ideas. Personally I think three is a bit much unless there is good reason, such as carrying on family names.

SoupDragon · 24/02/2006 19:45

Mine all have 2 middle names (plus first name and surname). DS1 was given an "extra" one in memory of a friend and it seemed somehow unfair to give the others fewer than he had...

IMO, 3 middle names is too many. Each to their own though...

hunkermunker · 24/02/2006 19:46

Does smack a bit of naming after a whole footie team, I think.

GeorgieVickyLou · 24/02/2006 19:46

i have 3. user name plus one more and a surname, Must say it has always been a talking point. My name on my passport takes up two lines and i can never fit my name in the boxes on forms. i like having lots of names, It's different.

ds has a first name and two middle names - all quite long. It is a nightmare to fill in any forms!

one is fine I think
Did go to a baptism once where the poor girl was called Chelsea after the football team - which would have been fine but then they gave her about 35784525 middle names, of the entire team....
horrendous

My dd has 2 middle names. The first was out of repect to dh's deceased mother and then we thought we might offend my mum so we had that too. Poor child. Tecnically it could be 3 as her first middle name is hyphenated.

laurenholly · 24/02/2006 22:06

my 2 daughters are
lauren jessica paige
holly louise susan
so both have 2 middle names each

sweetkitty · 24/02/2006 22:13

Both DDs have 2 names (forename and middle name) my limit would be 3 (forename and 2 middle names) but it's like everything else it's your choice.

I have two middle names, and to honest it is a pain, because most forms only have space for one, so my name is always printed wrong on things, which I find very irritating. I now put no initials at all, which is also wrong, but less irritatingly so IYSWIM. My two lo have just the one, so it will always be right.

Ailsa · 24/02/2006 23:54

I have forename + 2 middle names
My sister has no middle names
My 1st Half brother has forename + 2 middle names
My 2nd Half brother has forename + 1 middle name
My 3rd Half brother has no middle names

All 3 of my kids have forename + one middle name.

Aero · 25/02/2006 00:07

My middle names are the names of both my Grandmothers. I never much liked one in particular (Margaret - don't mind it so much now) as I was growing up and the other is so unusual it's more or less unheard of. Nowadays though, I'm proud to have their names as they are(/were - only one still living) both such special people.

All my children have two middle names and dd has inherited her middle names from my Grandmothers (although I used one of my Granny's middle names (Anna) rather than Margaret). Poor girl has the unusual one too - she will spend her life repeating it!

RachD · 25/02/2006 00:13

DS has no middle names.
Like father, like grandfather, no middle name.

izzybiz · 25/02/2006 10:51

my children have 1 middle name each, both after someone.

whatsmyname · 25/02/2006 10:53

Aero - can't you tell us the unusual name? Its really got me curious now, and I'm looking for names.
