Think I'm pregnant but afraid to believe it...or do another test

I did a test a couple of hours ago and got a faint pink line within a minute or so of peeing and had husband confirm I wasn't imagining it! We've been TTC for a year for DC2 but my cycle has been so erratic and I know I have Polly- Cystic Ovarian Syndrome so I figured it may not happen for us again particularly as my weight is very high at the moment. just in shock really, but too nervous to do another test as last month I had one positive and one negative and was NOT pregnant. Also, I've been having almost phantom pregnancy symptoms on and off since we've been TTC such as nausea and palpitations. When I tested tonight it was very much just to prove that I wasn't pregnant as I'm about 50 days since the beginning of my last period. I guess on one hand I don;t want to have my hopes dashed and on the other worried if I am pregnant due to previous PND and other issues...but that's a whole different thread!

Congratulations :o

I know you must be terrified, but pls do another test in the morning. Ignoring it or waiting longer won;t make the answer different

Good luck

Certainly sounds promising though I understand why you're nervous. There isn't really any substitute for doing another test, though. You could wait another few days to see if you have more/different systems, eg very tender breasts. How long is your cycle usually?

hugglebug · 16/06/2012 22:44

That's the problem my cycle varies a lot. Last month was 48 days the month before 32 before that 28. I haven't been regular since coming off the pill last January. Also, because it's not been happening for us I've kind of been carrying on as normal and was out last night and had a few drinks (now racked with guilt). My boobs are sore but have been on and off since I came off the pill.

Maybe a digital test so Theres no trying to interpret faint lines. Fingers crossed

hugglebug · 17/06/2012 08:42

Congratulations! Something similar happened to me, digi said 5+ weeks, went to a dating scan and it turned out baby was 12 weeks and I'd missed the whole first trimester.

Thank you all. Slowly getting my head around it I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm sure I'll be on here plenty over the nest eight months.
