Wisdom tooth coming through

Hi,
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but I have a wisdom tooth that has decided to start coming through and it's causing my entire mouth to swell, give me ear ache etc.
It's very very painful and i'm just wondering if anybody knows of any safe/natural painkillers that I can take for it, as paracetamol is doing bugger all.

I had this during my pregnancy, and my gum got infected. I went to see my dentist and he prescribed me some antibiotics.

Maybe go and see your dentist/ doctor? x

I will if it doesn't get any better over the weekend. I had the same thing last year with one on the opposite side and just took painkillers for it, but I wasn't pregnant then so it was easier to deal with!

I have this too, I'm washing it out with salt water to try and stop an infection developing. Very uncomfortable though.

My dentist also reccommended that Corsodyl mouthwash, but he said to only use it for 2 weeks because it can stain your teeth.

I had 2 wisdom teeth suddenly come through when I was pregnant with DS, before that I had none. I second Corsodyl mouthwash and if no better then a trip to the dentist. Mine gave me antibiotics as they were infected, the pain was a lot better after taking them. They ended up impacted though so I had them both out after DS was born.

How funny. I've got a wisdom tooth that has been only slightly through for years and it has suddenly emerged fully as well. I'm 15 weeks pregnant. I wonder why this happens?

I had a terrible wisdom tooth flare up over Easter (about 30 weeks pregnant), dentist didn't really want to give me anti-biotics so I just lived with pain for about a week (ouch!) - salt water rinsing did help though.

Thanks all, i've got one that's been coming through on and off for about two years now, and still hasn't emerged fully! Aside from the one that's causing me pain at the moment, the bottom one on the same side is pushing through too now! :(

I'm guessing it's sort of similar to the fact that when pregnant your nails grow more and your hair too, so why not your teeth?

Anyway, I will try the corsodyl, thank you :)
