4d scans

Okay so I have decided that I would like to get a 4d scan done, was my birthday few days ago and got some cash for it, my oh still hasn't got me anything so I suggested he pay the remainder of the cash, when I suggested this he said huh why would you want that, and then walked out.

Is it really that stupid an idea? It is our first unplanned baby but I thought it would be nice to be able to see him again.

Should I just go ahead and book it myself and take someone else with me, or should I just forget the whole thing? Wwyd??

I loved my 4D scan, and it also gave us confirmation we was having a girl. Your partner sounds very abrupt, has he been ok otherwise? Maybe he doesn't have the money? I have pictures on my profile if you want a look, was worth every penny for me especially since the week before I'd been in hospital for days with a big bleed.

Good luck Thanks

Oh pants to his reaction! My DH has had a few spouts of oddness which have made me boo or get angry at him. Never had an argument before getting pg and so both our emotions are high at times.
Some of my friends have reassured me that their DHs have been less excited during the pg but really happy once LO is in their arms.

We've been having 4d scans but through the NHS as they found a minor defect and so we get them regularly. However the NHS ones don't try for a nice picture and so she looks a little odd. Babybond though did amazing pictures at the beginning and so going private was definitely worth it.
I would say go for it! Your DH may still be trying to get his around a LO coming and so is having a weird moment Hmm?

I'm thinking about a 4D scan too and I'm currently 24 weeks. Then I looked at the internet images and there are loads of squashed face alien like images - not the pretty little baby pics I'd expected to see. So now I'm having second thoughts, but my oh is really keen and keeps asking when we're going to book it. Had a disapppointing 20 week scan (from an image perspective) so thought it would be a good bonding experience.

But now I'm worried I won't like the image, especially if it's too early, and should just wait.

So, OP, like you, I'm confused!

I had a 4D scan at 27 weeks. It was a bit weird and DD did look a little alien like throughout but it was well worth it. Confirmed we are in fact having a DD for starters, but was also amazing to see her moving around in there. Think it actually made it seem more real for DH as well. It was his idea and I wasn't too keen at first having seen other 4D scan pictures. It also confirmed DD is a little on the lazy side - she yawned all the way through!Smile

I'm thinking about booking one for around 30 weeks!! Just had my 20 week scan and we don't get another so would be nice to see them again! Breaks up the pregnancy as well!!

I also suggested it and got a similar reaction. I don't think they are less excited about our pregnancies, just not as obsessed about stuff as we are! I think my boyfriend just thinks it's a waste of money and that I'm over-obsessing, and that the regular scans on the NHS are just fine. Fair enough really.

You are suggesting doing it on your own without your partner. Obviously feel free if that's what you want to do, but I wouldn't. These are the kind of things you will have to agree on and do together, and compromise if both of you don't want the same, not just do whatever you want to do on your own. I don't think that is a good basis for family life. For me, my boyfriend's opinions on how we do things throughout the pregnancy are really important and I want us both to be equally involved and make the decisions together - at the end of the day, it isn't his fault that it is me who is carrying the baby not him.

I loved my 4d scan it made me remember that I was pregnant not ill (I had GD). When she was newborn if let dd float in the bath she would assume the same position she was in the scan.

Me and my DP are looking to have one when we're about 28 weeks, just had my 20 week scan and I got to see my little girl so about 30 secs and DP really wants too Smile

I had one at 30 weeks and I loved it, she's 7 weeks old now and looks just like the pics, I've got a big one on my wall and she always stares at it! OH was a dick the day before so I went alone and it was just as special x
