i am 34 weeks today and last time i was seen was at 28 weeks. 28 weeks was only the 2nd time as they couldnt get me in until after my 12 week scan despite me calling them when i was 6 weeks. My midwife forgot to check my bloods at 28 weeks which i then had to go to the hospital myself to get them done not easy when working full time and have 2 other children to care for.

its now taken me 90 times yes thats 90 calls to get through to my drs surgery to make a 34 week appointment she managed to give me 10 am. I left work at 9.30 and the gates to the car park were jammed so couldnt get out so rang the drs to see if they would change it to afternoon nope everything has gone and try on monday. I know its down to me to make appointments etc but when you have to ring at 8.30 (school run time) and takes 90 times average to finally get through for them to only give you an hour to get there is not really good enough?
I dont know which way up the baby is laying i dont know if my blood pressure is ok as its not been checked for 6 weeks and as im still working long hours really would appreciate it being checked.

I dont know what else to do ? has anyone else had this experience?

Can you only make appt on the day, could you book one for a weeks time (which isn't ideal I know)? Never had this experience but you have my sympathy :).

i know in subsequent pregnancies you get less appointments but you should be able to get docs appointments if you need them tbh

i have so far had a booking in appointment, i should get a 16 week mw appointment, a 20 week scan a 28 week mw appointment and a 36 week appointment, and then one at 41 weeks if i go over. so your amoutn of appointments doesn't sound too far off tbh (this is my 3rd also) but if you're worried you shoudl be able to get into the doctors, for anything not just the pregnancy

I hope you get an appointment soon and that everything goes ok!

Doesn't your midwife give you your next appt at the end of each one? This all sounds totally unacceptable. Have you given the community midwifery office a ring, because they should know about this. You should be seen about 7 times in a subsequent pregnancy.

Hello Bue, my last appt at 28 weeks she tried to book me a 36 week one but she said it wouldn't let her go that far ahead so speak to reception. They gave me the same answer and said try at the beginning of June so I did they couldn't fit me in until mid jul which will make me 38 weeks and then she laughed and sed well that's if u haven't had the baby by then? I sed yea cause that would b really funny wouldn't it and I hung up. I would a. Like to know if baby has turned yet? And b. If my blood pressure is ok as I have a really physical job but I'm finishing work next Friday so that will make life easier!
