Sorry for the rant but just feel really down.

I'm a PA, been one a long time and currently work for a surgeon in an academic setting.

I've been here about 1 1/2 years and he's a challenging guy to work for but we've always got on. He took the news of my pregnancy pretty well (which was unexpected) but since then his ex-pa and friend has started working with us and things have gone dramatically down hill.

He can be very confrontational, shouty and stressy. 9 our of 10 he will now only speak to me to vent / shout / moan - everything is my fault. He has not spent any time with me for months now and its impossible to do my role properly - hence things are going wrong more often than usual. He is also diverting my work others in the team.

I shoulden't care; and in a way I don't but I have always taken pride in my work and now I just feel like he can't wait for me to go on maternity leave (I think, he thinks I won't come back). I can only assume we got on well before because there was no one else - now he feels he has others than can do my role and dosent care.

I know they has happened to others in my role - its nothing new. He's really not into confrontation and just makes it so unpleasant people give up and leave. :s

Does he have a superior you can talk to, or HR? It sounds like a really awful environment to work in :(

Sadly not really - he is the head of the 'bit' I work in. HR are useless and I don't feel supported at all.

I feel like yelling across the desks 'I AM STILL HERE YOU KNOW' at my colleagues who are making it worse. :(

Still our 'Melon' gave me a good kick when I went to the loo which made me smile :)
