Anyone else eating enough to sustain a small army?

Admittedly my 'stop eating now, you are comfortably full' reflex has never been particularly quick to respond to what I'm shovelling in my mouth but I am out of control.

I'm 30 weeks and simply do not seem to feel full up no matter how much I eat. It's a compulsion. Healthy food, junk, I'm not fussy.

I'm piling on weight.

Does anyone have any tips on how to slow myself down?

Me! I've put on loads the last couple of weeks because of it. I've gone to bed to stop myself picking, I've got into the habit of picking all the time after dinner-never used to have pudding even. I am eating almost as much as my husband who is very very tall and eats so much I usually moan at him for "wasting" food by eating it too quickly.

Me! I find it hard to ever feel full. When I was about 34 weeks pregnant we stayed at the Hilton where you can have everything under the sun for breakfast dh and a couple of people on nearby tables looked at me in shock as I pretty much had everything on offer (got my money's worth though as it was £18 each for breakfast!) Everyone said the indigestion would catch up with me in the end but 39 weeks and still haven't had any yet. Big diet starts when baby is born!

34 weeks 2moro and my appetite seems to decrease for a few days then increase madly? Last night I Ate a large bag of chips(from
Chip shop) the whole bag then an hour later was still hungry so ate 2 yogurts ??? WTF how could I still b hungry ?

hzgreen · 15/06/2012 16:13

i've been eating a ton from day 1, at first it was the only way i could get through the morning sickness but now i just have a huge appetite. i'm putting on loads of weight toobut trying not to worry about that until the baby is born :/

this thread is making me hungry...

Jungandeasilyfreudened · 15/06/2012 16:32

Glad it isn't just me! Cheekychops yur comment about having 2 yogurts made me laugh, I can't seem to just have one of anything. Unless it's one whole tub of Ben and jerry's and even then I could force down more if it wasn't so expensive Blush

I just ate a whole bar of white chocolate ..to myself Blush

Nothing seems to touch the sides since BFP.... I think I might ask for a Weightwatchers subscription for my birthday a month after DC is due.

Here as well :). Like some of the others, chomped my way out of morning sickness, ate a bit less in second trimester and at 30 wks my day is made up of snack times. Get full easily/uncomfortable now so you basically have to eat smaller portions all day. Things you gotta do - shocking :)

seabuckthorn · 15/06/2012 19:58

3 and a half big chocolate cookies consumed today!
I've been good and not bought any more treats in the food shop but I fear the damage has already been done.
I'm never really full. I'm gutted as lost a lot of weight before I fell pregnant!

Sorry I'm feeling sorry for myself today.

Cheekychops84 · 15/06/2012 20:51

They were small (ish) yoghurts? Blush

Cheekychops84 · 15/06/2012 20:52

Today I've had ....... 3 bits of toast 2 boiled eggs with that then pie and mash for dinner so a little better today - the pie and the toast ha ha

Jungandeasilyfreudened · 16/06/2012 12:38

Cheeky if I could stick to what you're eating I'd be feeling very smug!

I've had 2 whopping breakfasts and am pondering what to have for lunch.

Am quite amazed I can feel my baby move through all these layers of treats and overindulgence.

Am eating several breakfasts and tons of snacks through day but not hungry by evening so I suppose it evens itself out (!?). Was on healthy vegetably diet pre-preg and now all baby wants is junk food.

vanimal · 16/06/2012 21:20

I am 30 weeks pg, and cannot stop eating either!

I usually have cereal for breakfast followed by toast 5 mins later, and then snacking non-stop on crisps, muffins, fruit, anything I can get my hands on, followed by lunch and then dinner. And then more snacking.

I will be on a serious diet after baby arrives, but as it's my last pregnancy, I am not going to worry about it, and just enjoy pigging out whilst I can.

ithastobeNAICEham · 16/06/2012 21:55

Me!! Before I got pg I didn't eat much, now, my appetite has gone into over drive!!

So far today I've had 4 crumpets for breakfast, then 2 slices of toast before I took my dd to her access, while I was out I had a bag of crisps, got home and had lunch (2 sandwiches and 2 apples and an orange) then I had another orange. For tea I had 2 chinese pork chops with pasta, I've just finished a bar of chocolate and I'm wondering if I have enough bread to last the weekend so I can have some toast!!

I have zumba on dvd and will be joining weight watchers as soon as I've stopped breast feeding!!

I'm 27 weeks so a while to go yet!!

applecrumple · 17/06/2012 08:55

Yesterday I had 2 slices of fruit toast, then a small bowl of cereal then (as I was making a grasshopper pie) I scraped out the bowl of he filling, then I had some cheddar & digestives. That was just in the morning! Then I went out for lunch & had 2 courses with a small slice of cake for dessert. Then in the evening I had some of the leftovers from lunch, a doughnut, a handful of Doritos, 2 Maryland cookies, a couple of pieces of garlic bread & another slice of cake. After all that I was finally full! I'm 23 weeks btw.

Lora1982 · 17/06/2012 09:15

oh noooo im only at the beginning (10wks) and ive totally lost my appetite. I certainly wasnt the thinest to stary off with and clothes are already making me look fatter... When I get to 30 i bet theres a nasty switch inside which will turn me into a size 60 and I wont be able to lose it

SwissArmyWife · 17/06/2012 11:09

This thread makes me feel a little better about the amount i'm eating. Which is, in fact, enough to sustain a small army. Or maybe a big one. Grin

Ozziegirly · 17/06/2012 12:20

Yes! I am eating like a fiend. I was doing weightwatchers before I got pregnant and ha just reached my target weight as well.

But, the one saving grace is that I have only put on 4lbs so far at 14 weeks - I was like this in my first pregnancy, it's like being 15 again.

I had gest diabetes in my first pregnancy so I'm aware that in a few short weeks it's back (probably) onto the tedium of no sugar low GI diet so I am kind of making the most of it before this happens.
