What does everyone plan to do re alcohol? I'm almost eleven weeks and had decided no booze in first trimester and maybe a glass of wine with food, possibly once a week afterwards. But now I'm in swing of no booze, am not sure. What's everyone else thinking on this front? I feel more cautious than would have expected!

I'm 36 weeks and haven't had any since conception! I don't want it, i don't need it, and IMO it isn't good for the baby. Not judging others who have, but it's been so easy for me to go without that I'd be silly to have it just because I could.

I'm not sure one glass a week is worth the risk tbh.

Weirdly, I had two miscarriages in 5 months before falling pregnant this time around and I've got less paranoid rather than more. The first time I did everything perfectly, abstained from even borderline stuff - still lost it. Second time, a bit more relaxed but still quite careful, MMC at 12 weeks. This time I've been much more 'well, bollocks to it' and I've got to 16 weeks fine . If it's all going to go well there's not much you can do to shift it, and if there's something wrong then there's absolutely nothing you can do to make it ok. So have a (small) glass of wine and stop worrying.

I'm going to eat BLOCKS of pâté after I've had this baby. For weeks. It's going to be amazing.

Really interesting to get a consensus! Fluffy, apparently Stilton is now OK (check the NHS guidelines)!

Thanks loads,

Nicky
