By 16 weeks, does that sound about right/average? Or a bit on the high side?

I was 11st 7lbs to start with and 5 foot 8 so just at the top end of the 'healthy' zone on the BMI chart.

But now my nausea has passed I just can't seem to stop with the cake Blush

I'd say it's slightly lower than average. I think they say an average of about 25 pounds for the whole pregnancy if you are not overweight to begin with. Sounds like you are doing really well. Enjoy the cake!

I started at 11st 6lbs and am 5' 8" too. I am now 17 wks pregnant and weigh a whopping 12st 9lbs so I think you're doing very well indeed! I didn't throw up at all during the first trimester bit felt constantly sick which was alleviated only by stuffing my face with potato or cheese-based food! All the guides I've read say appetite and weight gain should accelerate after 1st trimester and about a lb per week is okay. Sounds to me like you are doing fine. I should probably be mortified by my weight gain but I think there are more important things to be worrying about than my appearance at the mo - and no medical professionals are giving me grief so I reckon it's okay. Good luck, skinny!

Ah thanks guys :-) its really hard to know what's normal...especially when you've spent most of your adult life trying not to put in weight, it feels kind of weird to just watch it click up!

Although if it means the baby is growing well then of course that's brilliant!
