Oooh when is your scan mc ?? I do have a bit of a big mouth so I said we will say we didn't find out cos if they know we know I will give in Grin

Oh no joyful I bet that happens to me ! My mum is desperate for me to get a 4d scan she offered to pay for us ! What are they like ??

We have agreed on this too: gonna find out but keep it a secret! We were gonna tell everyone but decided that we didn't want to deal with our PILs slightly moronic gender based stereotypes for the next 6 months if we tell them! ("you'll have to put pictures of x football team on his wall if it's a boy" etc etc etc....grrrr!).

SiioCal · 12/06/2012 19:40

Yeah danger that would annoy me too ! Are you going to tell people you know tho ? But just not say what ?

Thats what we did too, our scan was on Friday and as far as everyone knows we didn't find out the sex. We know we're having another boy though - sshhhhh Grin

I think its easier just to pretend you don't know or else certain people will just go on and on at you until you crack, or will constantly be watching every word coming out of your mouth regarding the baby or your every expression when genders are mentioned in order to guess. It my mother would drive me crazy!!

SiioCal · 12/06/2012 20:12

Eeeeexactly my thinking weelors !!! oooh a boy that's what I think I'm having to already have DD so would be nice Grin dp you have any names ?

That's one of the main reasons actually why I want to find out . I'm really struggling with names so if I know the sex it means I just need to worry about half the options !! Grin

That was one of the main reasons for us too Silo, we've had a girls name picked out since I was pregnant with DS1 but had no clue on boys names this time around. Will have to get our thinking caps on now we know its another boy though. Very happy to be having a boy (didn't mind what flavour we got) but gutted that I still can't use my girls name!!

Good luck with the scan Grin

SiioCal it's in two weeks, on the 27th. Really looking forward to it! Husband initially didn't want to find out but like me I think he just wants to know everything there is to know about this baby! He loved the early scan and is constantly looking at the scan pics!

I think it'll be nice to refer to baby as a he/she rather than it as well, plus make choosing baby names easier! Might tell close family like our mums but won't tell any of our friends. : )

mcsquared · 15/06/2012 15:34

Oooh and we're thinking of a 4D scan later on! One of the things we love about the scan is seeing the baby move and it's so sad that you can't record it on your phone (cameras not allowed) so would be worth it for a nice DVD. Sods' Law though, baby will probably be asleep!
