How to dress a bullet-shaped bump?

I am about 28 weeks into my second pregnancy and have a totally sticky-outy bullet-shaped bump, all out front so you can't really tell I'm pregnant from behind except for my massive bum and total duck waddle. People point and stare/laugh at my shape if I wear close fitting things, but drapey things float down way in front of me and make me look half a mile wide from the side. I just look silly!!

Any suggestions for how to dress this sort of shape?

I carry my babies this way too! :) And I say dress that bump with pride! Wear things good and tight and be proud to be different! ;) Xx

My bump is like this as well. I've been going for wrap dresses and tighter dresses but with shrugs and little cardies. I agree with tinker - wear the bump with pride!

much nicer your way, I just get fat and frumpy all over, I I would have loved neat little bullet shaped bumps :)

I agree, wear tighter clothes and be proud of your neatness.

People really point/stare/laugh? [Shock]

There was a day about a month ago when I was wearing a ruched Isabella Oliver t-shirt with a little cardie which opened over the bump and a whole series of people really did laugh at my shape :( I got comments at a toddler class with DS on Monday about how big it is growing with all the rain Hmm Even my Mum told me about a friend of hers who wore bright orange hairbands to distract from her bump ...

Last pregnancy, I was the same shape but not self-conscious about it - maybe because this time I know it's only going to get bigger and more sticky-outy and attract more comments. A total stranger said to me at 8 months last time, "Oh you are enormous - is it overdue twins?" Shock

Perhaps this is more a thread asking for support for rude comments about your shape, as well as any clothes tips!

Seriously, don't let other people upset you! You're pregnant, of course you're going to "stick out" - way better than ending up with a pudgy face imho??

MrsRhettButler · 12/06/2012 16:19

Yh, I had a pudgy face!

Seriously op do NOT let people upset you. I don't know why people think its acceptable to comment on your size just because you're pregnant. It makes me so angry.

Can't believe people point and laugh, the rude bastards! I say ignore them and wear whatever you like.

My bump is massive and 'out front' but I have a massive ass and pudgy face to match, would love to be nice and neat like you!

I tend to prefer more fitted things as I feel like I look like a triangle otherwise...

Oh how rude!

My favourite maternity top is silky, a bit loose over the bump but then has elastic at the bottom, avoiding the 'tent look'. Got it from GAP I think. That might work?

Today I am in a tight t-shirt with a little cardie - no comments yet and I got offered a seat on the train very quickly. Am trialling sticking this bump out with pride ... Wink
