I had one yesterday afternoon and still in pain despite painkillers I am on for an abcess. Not really crampy-more like the pain I had when I had a coil fitted so I don't think its labour just wondering if its normal to still feel this sore? Midwife did not expect the sweep to have worked.

Also have sticky discharge but not bloody, am assuming it can't be my plug if not pink?

I would say things are a shifting !!!Grin My plug was straw like and looked sorry TMI snott...alot of it but I had no blood in it. My labour pains were like yours too...more sharp then achey. Good Luck and let us know if anything is starting to happen !xx P.s. how far along are you ?

Thanks, had a false alarm friday so am not getting my hopes up especially as the midwife said yesterday my cervix was very high so she didn' think labour was about to happen and that she'd see me thurs for my next sweep Sad

I'm 40+4. Had my DD at 39+3 so am fed up with it already! Good to hear that it could be the plug though, mine last time was also like snot but with pink in. This is more sticky yellow stuff, she did say to expect some discharge though. Hurry up baby!

Maybe the pain is the cervix moving down ?

Funnily enough the midwife thought thats what my pain was last time when I had the false alarm- I thought maybe she was trying to cheer me up!

Still in pain now but think it has eased off a bit. Still getting sticky stuff but its not that much. Not sure I'll be going ahead with the sweep thursday.
