Good luck, I'm sure it will be fine. (I always feel just them same though so I think it's completely natural).

Notmyselfatall · 12/06/2012 08:10

I have mine tomoro and am very worried too :( you'll be ok.

fotheringhay · 12/06/2012 09:08

It just shows you're an intelligent and thoughtful person Smile

My Mum came with me for mine last time, she couldn't understand why I was nervous till I told her they check for x, y, z, a, b, c, and David Cameron symdrome (or whatever Grin ). I don't know what she thought it was for, maybe just to say hello to the baby Confused

Anyway, the chances are very high that you'll be completely fine. It'll be over in no time Smile

Good luck today Smile I'm sure all will be fine

Notmyselfatall · 12/06/2012 09:13

Aw, that's a lovely post to OP fothering Smile I am
Very nervous and praying everything is ok tomorrow. It is at 10.30, so scared. Have two dc, my youngest is 5 and has severe special needs and I have declined all tests for any abnormalities. I wouldn't be able to go through with an amnio as I have had 3 mc's also so no point having high risk hanging over me so I'd rather wait and just see...iykwim . Found out at gender scan a fortnight ago that I'm having a girl Smile have a dd too nearly 11 xxx

McPhee · 12/06/2012 09:14

Bless you. I was exactly the same, but the sonoographer was lovely and put me at my ease. Although she did ask me if I could try not to keep wobbling....I was very tearful Blush

It was lovely to hear and see the heartbeat really clearly. They do that bit in colour so you can see the red and blue blood pumping through. The human body is an amazing thing.

Take tissues Smile

Had my scan today. Dc3 . Midwife was very quiet and not really nice. Said I have to go back in a week cos she couldn't see the bottom of the spine or the bladder filling up. Worked myself up and ended up going back in to ask another midwife if this was anything to worry about, the midwife who scanned me, was in a room scanning someone else. I told them I was worried as my ds is disabled. She sed that if they had been worried at all they would have made me an appointment with the consultant. So why did this midwife not say that when scanning me? That It was the position baby was in? Still can't help but worry Sad

LittleLolly · 13/06/2012 12:36

Had my 20 week scan yesterday, it was amazing!! Wait until you see your little one in so much detail! I saw him holding onto his toes, it was so clear!

Try to relax and remember the odds of something being wrong are tiny. Focus on how lovely it's going to be to see your baby!

Good Luck

fotheringhay · 13/06/2012 14:07

Oh dear Notmyself that's annoying, it might've just been her grumpy/quiet personality. Maybe you could call back and say you're a bit unclear on their policy, and it is right that if there was an abnormality you'd be referred to a consultant? Could they ask the midwife to confirm it was simply to do with the baby's position?

Don't worry about making a fuss, after all, this concerns your and your baby's future! It may not take them long to explain and it could save you a week of worry.

Notmyselfatall · 13/06/2012 15:59

I
Know fothering Hmm soo
Annoying and she has me worrying Sad why the hell couldn't she have said '
I can't see the baby's bladder filling up/ I can't see the bottom of the spine BECAUSE she isn't in
A good position'!!!! ???? Angry instead she just sed ' oh, can't seem to get the bottom of the spine, can't see the bladder filling up, you'll need to come back another day' I'm really actually angry now. Cos why make ppl worry when it's just about positioning etc? I have a 5 yr old ds who is severely disabled plus I've had 3 losses as well as my healthy dd, nearly 11, don't need this worry too Sad

Sastra · 13/06/2012 18:16

Oh you poor thing Sad it's so difficult when people are offhand like that. I think that they forget the effect that they can have on us. What is just a total non-issue for them can be agonising for us. It's a shame she wasnt a little more thoughtful.

I'm not surprised you've been in a tiz given your previous experiences, but as an objective but non-specialist person, I would honestly say that it sounds like an issue of positioning more than anything serious.

Fingers crossed next scan youll have some one a little more sensitive and you'll be able to relax and enjoy seeing your little one again.

Notmyselfatall · 13/06/2012 18:32

Thanku sastra Smile I really hope and pray it is to do with positioning. When I go back next week I'm Defo saying about the lady that scanned me making me worry! The fact I have ds's health worries playing on my mind especially! It would have took her less than 5 mins to read that part of my notes before the scan....Sad

Notmyselfatall · 13/06/2012 21:36

Freaking out now :( shouldn't have googled :( please can someone share some similar stories with me? Sad

Sastra · 14/06/2012 17:24

Do you think it might be worth giving your midwife a bell?
