Getting a bump

I'm sure I've seen a similar thread before but can't find it . When you are over weight and pregnant , when do you stop looking fat and start looking pregnant ? I'm a size 16-18 and carry most of my weight in my belly . I'm 20 weeks and still don't look any different .

And where does the fat go !

I'm about the same size as you (or was!) and it took till 24 weeks plus for non-friends and family to tell. In my experience my pre-existing tummy flab has gone under the bump, as the top and middle of my bump is hard and non-flabby! I think that's what stops your bump looking bumpy IYSWIM as it isn't as well defined at the bottom like a skinny person's would be.

37+6 eek! Nearly there. I spent a lot of time asking my DP if I looked pregnant yet - now it is unquestionable!!

So if you don't mind me asking how does your bump look now ? Does it just look like a normal bump ? What kind of clothes are you wearing ?

The bump starts from immediately below my bust and goes out a lot, which is what makes me look definitely pregnant not fat! It is also all at the front, so from behind I look the same as before. I tend to wear a lot of tunic style tops and long line cardigans, or maternity dresses and leggings .

I really hope I start looking pregnant soon ! I have never actually seen a fat pregnant person before !! Did you feel you belly changing from flabby rolls to a hard rounded belly ? Apart from the fact my belly rolls I could look 9mths pg now !!
