Does this sound like a uti or normal preggo wees issues??

Hello, I am 15+2 and for the last week or so have had intermittent dull ache in my lower back.

Also, whenever I go for a wee, as soon as I stand up, I feel like I need to wee again: I get that weird pressure sensation in my urethra (Franklin?! I never know how to spell that...). And if I sit down again i can usually squeeze out a few more drops (sorry tmi!).

Wondered whether I should be worried if this might be a sign of a uti? I had a spate of bad cystitis cases a few years back but that was always accompanied by the lovely feeling of pissing razors burning when peeing, which I dont have now.

Or could this all just be harmlessly caused by the avocado-sized bambino currently sat on my bladder?

Any thoughts appreciated - anyone else had this?

Definitely get it checked out as it could easily be a uti and you don't want it getting worse or progressing to a kidney infection. Hope it gets better soon!

Well, back pain and needing to wee all the time could just be usual pregnancy niggles, but you'd be best to get checked out just in case. As Duck says, if a UTI isn't caught early it can get much worse. Better safe than sorry :)

I've had this, feels like baby is sat on a tube and blocking it (only way I can describe it) I've had all negative tests for uti so I guess it's another pregnancy niggle

I would say get checked too to be on the safe side but I was told it is harder to empty your bladder during pregnancy (I have the needing a wee as soon as I've just been problem too), apparently if you lean forward as far as you can as you're on the loo it helps to empty your bladder completely, it does seem to work quite well and can help prevent a uti

Thanks guys :-) well I am taking the day off work sick tomorrow (out of utter exhaustion!) so I think I will go to the docs to get it checked out just in case. sounds like its probably just one of those pregnancy things, but better to be safe than sorry.

I had a UTI picked up in a routine antenatal urine sample. Up to that point, I hadn't really experienced any symptoms that I didn't put down to pregnancy. But when the anti-biotics kicked in, I found that I didn't need to get up to the toilet quite so often, something I thought was just pregnancy.

So I'd get it checked out in case it is a UTI, because there aren't always obvious symptoms, but don't be too disheartened if your symptoms are just pregnancy 'discomforts' with no treatment.

Course then you might avoid the really awful thrush I got after the antibiotics and I'm not getting much more sleep because my legs now get cramp in them throughout the night, and I'm back to peeing more again I think its just getting futher along in pregnancy

Not that I'd moan or anything Hmm
