6w5d having very painful cramps

I'm 6w5d pregnant with baby number 2 and I've been having streching/cramping pains for a couple of weeks but today they have been very painful.

Is it more painful because it's my second pregnancy or is it something I should be worried about?

I'm hesitant about making a gp appointment because I haven't had any spotting or bleeding.

Is anyone else having such intense cramps?

Hi junglebums, I had intense cramps that turned out to be a UTI. I also had (and still have) brown spotting so they scanned me just over a week ago at 5w 1d. I got antibiotics and the pains more or less disappeared although I do still get period type pains on and off. I would not have guessed that I had a UTI.

I would go to the GP if I was you for peace of mind and to rule out something as simple to treat as a UTI. Goodluck.

Probably nothing but best get it checked out just in case.

At about 6/7 weeks I had some horrid stretching/stabbing pains and cramps, by 8/9 weeks i had them so bad one evening that they left me doubled over in pain and breathless. After that night, nothing.

I thought it might be my backward facing uterus tipping forward, but at my 12 week scan everything looked fine.
