Stronger kicks all of a sudden?

Hi all

have already posted this morning but have lots of questions today!

I apparently have an anterior placenta (on 20 week scan notes) but my 'kicks' have still been noticeable since about 19 weeks but as of yesterday pm have been a lLOT stronger, harder and much more noticable. They are much more BOOM! and a lot less pop and swirl :)

Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think baby has shifted position or could it be that placenta has moved out of the way?? Not sure if possible?

TIA :)

Hi Spice I can't comment on anterior placenta as mine's at the back - but my LO's kicks suddenly got MUCH more noticeable at around 20 weeks. I'd been feeling it for a long time, but they got more definite and concerted almost overnight :)

At 20 weeks the bean's still got a lot of room to move around and shifts position frequently, so maybe you're feeling it more when it's in certain orientations?

Wow - just today (24+1) I felt baby wriggling away, except this time it definitely felt more like elbows and knees. I guess it's getting quite cosy in there. Cue big grin on my face of course.

Hi Spice - also have anterior placenta. you don't say how many weeks you are but I notice the movements started getting really strong from about 27 weeks. I mentioned it to midwife and she said it was normal and just a sign of the baby getting stronger so you can feel kicks through placenta IYSWIM.

My guess is its a position change as well as baby getting stronger. The midwife told me at 24 weeks I was probably getting so many kicks because baby at that time was back-to-back so you can feel its little arms and legs wriggling at the front more . Hoping it doesn't get too comfy and decide it likes being in that position!

I had an anterior and partial placenta praevia identified at 20 wk scan and at 36 wk scan it had moved right up. As your belly gets bigger the placenta moves - think about like if you stuck a sticker on the bottom front if a balloon and then blew it up...the sticker would rise up, so to speak. Probably a combo of placenta shift and baby wriggling. My DD kicked, somersaulted and breakdanced right up to the last few hours!

Hi ladies

I'm 23 weeks and the kicks have remained stronger since I posted, it's quite nice really.

I definitely think it's to do with her moving position Paperclips but also that maybe placenta has moved slightly higher Button

I'll just enjoy it I think. DH said to me that other day that he thinks I must be enjoying pregnancy as I'm a lot less stressy! And I really am - very pleasantly surprised :)

It's wonderful isn't it Spice?? I miss it so much. Now my DD is here (8mo) she kicks me just as hard...and pulls my hair! Seriously, enjoy every bump and poke, even in the middle of night. When you get near the end you can literally see your LO turnover in your belly. It's the mist surreal thing, like a wave from one side to the other. I could feel her bum when she stuck that out and often what I am sure was a heel up under one of my ribs! And when they push their arms out and scratch you with a finger... Uh-oh...feeling broody again!!!
