Due today.

Woken up and wiped and had what was more like first wipe of period than show. Trying to stay calm and wait 20 mins or so to see if it is a weird show. It wasn't jelly-like though like with DD....

Scared - does this often happen at start of labour, or should I be panicking???

Oh, slight tummy ache with it - not feeling contractions as is more constant. Had lots of movements last night, and a slight one this morning... on the cold water to wake it up.

Ok... been back - I think that there has been no new bleeding, just sort of the rest of what I wiped originally on the pad (if that makes sense?)

Think I've had 2 contractions, 10 mins apart... now just waiting a little longer to check on the bleeding situation again.

Just a very bloody show?

Flamesparrow - no experience as only one ds, and didn't have a show at all, but from what you've said, I think it probably is.
How exciting. Please don't feel panicky. Is anyone else there?

Bumping this for you, in the hope of more experience. Good luck!

If you're worried, seek advice from the hospital by phone to start with.

Been back (again)... no more bleeding, so thinking is just a colourful show.

Typical... been wanting to go into labour for weeks, and it finally starts the day DD is meant to be starting nursery! She's gonna be soooo miffed.

a show was always my sign of labour. would start about 12 hours later but sounds as if your is starting now...

Good LUck, keep us infomred

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2006 07:57

Much calmer now - no new blood since that first lot, so I am sure it was just a much gunkier show than I had with DD

Now we just need to hope that she doesn't remember she was meant to be starting school....

agree with harpsi and others - best to phone labour ward and check with a mw about it.

fastasleep · 23/02/2006 08:39

Oh Flamey! Good luck! I bet it's a show, try not to worry, stay calm, eat energy rich foods, you're going to have a baby!

Gets excited!

calebsmummy · 23/02/2006 08:51

Ooh Flame,

Getting excited for you! See told you if you made plans something would happen

Dunno if you remember but with Dylan I had a show which was basically blood. I panicked, thought I was bleeding and went to hospital. They said it was a show then sent me home after monitoring. That was at 11 on the Thursday night and I was back in at 5 on the Friday morning and had him at 9. So I am hoping things move as quick for you.

Oooh oooh, wanted to bounce up and down, all exciting Sorry, shall calm down now

Hope you are ok Honey. Big hugs to you. xxxxx

Not been able to tell Psycho yet (school runs), so can't say anything on Escape etc...

Ok Hun, I won't say anything, not up to me - lol!

You ok?

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2006 09:02

Yup - much calmer now. Just panicked a bit . Completely positive it was a show. Contractions are sporadic, so no idea how long this could take... B started muttering about scooooooool, but we discussed she'd play with Gran a bit later instead, and do school another day, and she seemed ok with it.

fastasleep · 23/02/2006 09:13

Oh good luck!

You're having a baaaaby flaps about remember to do your birth announcement as soon as you feel human(ish) (I forgot to do mine for months!)

Here's hoping you only need gas and air (entonox rocks anyway so you should just have it )

Chloe55 · 23/02/2006 09:34

Oooh good luck Flame - did you manage to persuade DH then?

mummy23 · 23/02/2006 10:19

Hope you r alright flame, keep us updated (if you can)

mymama · 23/02/2006 10:35

Had same type of shows as your dd with my first and then what you are experiencing now with ds1 and ds2. Incidently my waters broke with 2nd and 3rd but had to be broken with first. I think it is quite common. My bleeding actually kept up slightly with these labours too (like a period) so not to worry. Good look and best wishes on the birth of your new little one.

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2006 10:37

Providing all goes to plan, having a homebirth, so should be about lots during the day.

Still about 10 mins apart. Feeling better than I have in weeks - guessing the baby properly dropping has taken all the pressure off my back.
