Hi, 15/16 weeks and been crippled all night with what I really think is,wind (though had my doubts at one point). Still quite painful and feel bruised. The pain began in waves almost like period pain, all below belly button, then just constant hot pain. Could it be stretching or just wind? Its really not a big deal but soooo painful and I don't think I can take wind settlers? Have resorted to paracetamol this morning and just hot tea and rich tea biscuits. Hot w bottle didn't really help, not farted much either. (sorry tmi!) No discharge or blood etc.

Any other remedial suggestions please?! Could I take wind eze or rennies etc?

I'm pretty sure windeze is fine to take in pg - I took it when I had really bad wind pains at around the same stage (so glamourous!)

Rene Deflatine is the best thing for trapped wind, and can be taken in pregnancy (thank goodness)!

Thanks for the advice - such a simple problem but so crippling! I've had a grumbling appendix before and at times it wasn't far off! (i am aware labour is a few months away!)

Peppermint tea helped me. And getting in a warm bath. Its amazing how uncomfortable it can be. As soon as you do do a fart, you'll feel so much better.

Peppermint in any form.

Have a warm bath, then lie on your left side in bed & draw your knees up a little & relax & have a good unladylike fart! Grin

The things we do/discuss for these kids!!

Great ideas, thanks, taking a very long time but a few farts managed! Still painful but I reckon stuff takes its time with a baby on board :) pharmacist would only let me have gaviscon Grrr but necking the peppermint tea :)

Big sympathies to ibs sufferers
