Hi,
Found out the other day that I'm pregnant (almost 6weeks) I have been experiencing stomach pains on my left side lower down than my belly button, was wondering if this is normal or not, it's my first pregnancy so I'm just bait worried and want all to be okay! I was diagnosed with p.i.d almost 2 months ago but that was cleared up by a course of antibiotics, not sure if this will affect the pregnancy at all, seen a doctor who said to be on the safe side I am to go for a early 6week scan sometime next week. Just want my baby to be okay, if anyone else has experienced these pains please let me no how the pregnancy went. The pains last around 2-3mins at a time and occur every few hours, had all the normal signs I.e morning sickness, extreme tiredness, weeing a lot, eating more :)
Any comments would be a great help,
Thanks...

I had this at the beginning I was worried it may have been eptopic dnt want to worry you but all was well now 33 weeks. It may just be stretching pains where it's all growing I'm sure you will b fine xx

Thank you for the reassurance, cheered me up to hear I'm not the only 1 :) and that everything is all okay! Still worried tho hope everything will be okay! X

What sort of pain is it? I think that most of us experience pain in pregnancy - its usually a sign of things moving, stretching, growing etc for the baby and totally normal.

Is the pain just below your belly button? ATM the baby will be nowhere near there.

What is PID?

Pelvic inflammatory deasise it is all cleared now but puts people who have had it at a slightly higher risk of an ectopic pregnancy... The pain is on my left side about 1.5 inches below the belly button line... But only on my left side. Thanks xx

Come and join us in the February 2013 thread - we're all sharing our pains and troubles!
Congratulations on your BFP too!

I can't believe there's a February 2013 thread already! I'm on the Feb 2011 thread - how time has flown! I still can't believe that there's a Feb 2012 thread, TBH! :o

Congratulations Jessy17, I'm sure that the pains are nothing to worry about. I had horrendous pains during my pregnancy with DD1, she's 5 now. It's all so worrying though! It's good that your Dr is sending you for a scan.

I think that pain from ectopic is pretty constant and is a severe, stabbing like pain. You can also get deferred pain on the shoulder tip. It can be accompanied with blood too, so any bleeding you must get checked out!

Thank you RobinSparkles from all the feedback I've been receiving I think it's just because of it being my first pregnancy, I suppose I'll know for sure when I get my first scan xx

I think you're probably right about the fact that it's your first. As I said, I had horrible pains with DD1 and panicked like mad but not so much with DD2, possibly because it had done it all before!

Good luck and I hope the rest of your pregnancy runs smoothly :) .

I had pain all the way up to about twenty odd weeks, sometimes really sharp stabby pains that took my breath away or dull achy period pain and then weird bruise, stingy bump pain. Used to make me really panicky and I phoned the out of hours midwives on more than one occasion (about 5 times so far!!) I'll be thirty five weeks on Monday Smile

Just been to A&E as I had severe pains and spotting earlier on tonight, they checked my bloods urine etc and said they do not think I'm having an ectopic pregnancy at all. Me and my partner are so chuffed but aren't going to get our hopes up until that twelve week scar xx
