I have just checked my approintment date for my 12 week scan, and I will be 14 + 3 by that time. Does anybody know if that will affect the triple test? Thank you!

If anything it will make the test more accurate... it's only a dating scan at 12 weeks. Good luck and drink lots of water beforehand!

Won't affect the triple test at all but if you live in a nuchal fold test area will be too late for that. I was cross as my first appt was at 15 weeks - but then turned out my hospital didn't do nuchal fold anyway so just got triple test done :)

You're not in NI by any chance are you...?

No - I am in Kent. We do the nuchchal fold test here. I have akready had 2 scans, but they won't date accurately until the 12 week one. I have opted for the fold test and bloods. Does this mean it will be too late for that? Thanks for your replies!

You can ring them up and ask to move, generally there are cancellations. I missed tge test because I was further along than tge mw and I believed.

Instead of nuchal fold + triple test, you'll be offered the quadruple test. My scan was at 14+1 but they decided the foetus measured too big by a couple of days so only quad test would be used to measure Downs risk. Makes no difference really. You get posted the results or called if it's high risk and you need more tests.

Are all the tests pretty similar in terms of accuracy then?

No, the combined test (nuchal translucency + bloods) is the most modern and accurate screening test (none are 100%).
I would move your scan to 13+5 or before if you can, or they will not be able to check the NT.

Thank you! I will phone them on Monday and try to get it moved!
