can anyone tell me if having PCOS really does increase the chances of miscarriage up to 50% and if so what can be done to prevent it?

I have it and I got pregnant once they upped my dose of clomid to 100mg. I am now 38+2 and so far have had a very normal pregnancy (hoping this continues for the birth) my mum kept telling me because of psos I had a much higher chance of losing the baby. Not what I wanted to hear when I was in the early weeks and terrified of it going wrong, I just wanted to be as positive as possible about it. Anyway I asked my specialist, my GP and the midwife and they said once you are pregnant it makes no difference, you are then just a normal pregnant woman.

I'm not trying yet but have PCOS. Know quite a few other women who have it, and their pregnancies have been fine. I've heard of insulin resistance being a problem for some, perhaps just ask your doctor for some reassurance. Otherwise, don't worry!!

Thanks so much - everything really worrying me at the moment.

I had acupuncture and took chinese herbs for a year, then came off them after starting periods for the 1st time in 2 yrs. Conceived naturally and am hoping to keep it natural. Good to know that I shouldn't need to take any medication.

I have got PCOS and diabetes and have got a crazy 18 month old boy, who i conceived naturally after about 6 years!! I had no problems through my pregnancy with the PCOS, and a few other ladies I know with it have had no problems! Congratulations Smile
