I seriously feel like cack ! Especially in the morning I feel like u know when u run up the stairs you get breathless and your legs ache for a few seconds as oxygen has been restricted to them I feel like that but just sitting here! When I'm doing the dishes my arms ache and I have to keep stopping and holding onto the sink trying to breathe ! I went to the hospital for it about 5 weeks ago and they said my iron was fine so thought blood clot on the lung which was all clear ! So they said I was having panic attacks ? Which I really don't think I am ? I'm not panicking when I'm breathless it's just really uncomfortable and really getting me down now that I can't even wash up ! I still have 2 weeks of work left and don't get sick pay so can't go sick ! Any ideas ? I won't go to hosp as they will jus Lee me in all bloody day for nothing but will go to GP on Monday but just do t want to go all weekend like this :(

It sounds a bit like anaemia but could of course be lots of other things too.
It would not do any harm to take ferrous sulphate or spatone( you can get it in boots).
Are you eating regularly as low blood sugar can make you feel a bit like this too.
Also you could go on mat leave. Early, is you job very tiring? Are you sleeping ok?
It really can be so hard getting through the last trimester if you are feeling crap :( women used to get signed off at 28 weeks for good reasons :)

I am due to start leave in 2weeks time thank god ! I'm sleeping well I didn't wake up till 8am ? It's really horrible feeling haven't got midwife until 11th July ! I never see her ! I will go to boots then and see if I can get some I did have some but they had bit A in them and can't have vit A !

Flisspaps · 09/06/2012 10:37

Buy Spatone or Ferroglobin B12.

Cheekychops84 · 09/06/2012 10:54

Ok is that on the shelf? Or do I have to ask ?

It's on the shelf. The MW was happy for me to take it instead of iron tablets after having a 1500ml PPH and all through pregnancy too.

Liquid iron is better absorbed than tablets anyway.

DuckWaddle · 09/06/2012 14:10

If they found your iron levels were fine then the liquid form is better as it easier on the stomach. But the levels in it are too low to do much if you are anaemic. You can get ferrous sulphate over the counter but ferrous fumarate has less nausea side effects and can also be bought from a pharmacist. I always take the latter.

nickelbarapasaurus · 09/06/2012 14:13

my MW recommended Floradix.

and spatone is available from the same places ( i got mine in Boots with my advantage points.)

nickelbarapasaurus · 09/06/2012 14:15

when you're talking about vit A, are you talking about general multi-vits?
you can get them specially for PG women with no vit A in - there isn't an awful lot of iron in them though.

and make sure you're eating properly. (6 small meals rather than 3 big meals if you're worried about blood sugar)

Thanks guys didn't buy the spatone was In a massive box and was £11? Wasn't sure if that was right and they wouldnt give me ferrous sulphate over the counter so will have to go to GP on monday
