Nursing Chair

After much thought, I've decided that I'd like to buy a glider nursing chair. Basically, I know that my lounge/sofa won't be comfortable enough and I also wouldn't feel safe/able to get up and out of it while holding baby.

I've heard all the arguments about baby becoming reliant on rocking motion etc, but I think one with a locking mechanism could overcome this, and would also be safer. I have also heard very positive feedback about using the chair as baby gets older as somewhere to cuddle and read books in preparation for bed.

I've heard great things about the Dutailier chairs, but price is a big consideration and I haven't really had much luck finding stockists at the moment. Is anyone able to offer feedback about the Habebe, Sereno or Supremo Bambino glider chairs? I've seen all these on various websites at reasonable prices, and I'd love to hear about their quality/sturdiness/comfort. Thanks in advance.

John Lewis sell Dutalier chairs. We were lucky enough to be given one by my lovely SiL but you can buy the chair on eBay and get new cushions.

Kiddicare sell other brands and have them on display in their Peterborough store to try out.

This is the chair I have. It was lovely to nurse in, and is still in the living room now.

Only downside is that it has come apart at the back. Now to give it its due I haven't investigated to see what has caused this, and my tiny baby is now a hulking great almost 2 year old who bombs about on it and has no doubt played a paert in the damage Grin.

I am, as I type sat in my mothers dutalier rocker some 30 years on and it is still going strong. In fact going full circle my SF who has back problems now (well actually he broke his back) has to sit in it as its the only chair he finds comfortable. They are currently looking into buying a second dutalier for the other sitting room.

If you can stretch to it the dutaliers ARE worth the money, and willl last you a life time.

I got a tutti bambini one. Love it but the arm rests do get in the way a bit cos dd is quite long. But it has 3 recline settings which is good. Only regret is buying it in beige. Beige and a refluxie very sicky baby and. Well you get the picture
