Apart from the obvious of having a cuddly newborn what are you really looking forward to?

I am looking forward to being able to walk without pain, get comfy in bed, play with the boys and having a small drink of cider as I have been craving it all the way through pregnancy.

Oh and being able to shave my legs without having to resort to strange positions!!

Only 17 weeks today, DP has been ordered to arrive at the hospital after birth with a rare fillet steak and some Stilton. :o

I also want the constant UTIs to end and to go back on a diet and lose all the weight that has already piled on. Hmm

Midgetm · 09/06/2012 08:40

Someone said sushi. Thought you can have sushi now.

You can have Stilton. So all the people that have said they want Stilton it ok to eat while pregnant. I have been eating it as normal.

Being able to walk without feeling like someone is shoving a knitting needle up my fanjo.

Weeing and something actually coming out.

Not having my hips dig into the bed when I try, in vain, to sleep.

No more bastard heartburn!

Westcountrylovescheese · 09/06/2012 08:56

The sloe gin that I made last autumn before I got pregnant.... It's been 'stewing' for as long as this baby and it's going to taste amazing!

...and pâté, and comfy sleep, and eating, and my clothes, and walking, and being able to hug DH properly.

...I think someone else said the missionary position. When you need it most it can't happen. Grin

This is the best thread ever

Diet Coke! I'm not much of an unpasteurised cheese person and don't eat meat so don't miss that but would love a cold glass of fizzy caffeinated crap! (also don't drink so not missing alcohol) Am only 7 weeks so a long time yet...

Dontbugmemalone · 09/06/2012 10:01

-Being able to walk quickly (well as much as 3yo DS will allow) and not feeling like I have a ball between my legs.
-sleeping on my stomach, although I will most likely have a c- section so I'll still have to wait a while
-drinking a mojito
-not spending most of the day in the loo
-hopefully no more piles and constipation (sorry tmi)
-being able to shave legs without straining myself
-DS meeting his brother :)

I'm almost 37 weeks so not long to go.

McPhee · 09/06/2012 10:07
  • getting myself in the bath/shower
  • putting my own shoes/socks on
  • hopefully the pain in my feet going so I can walk
  • a prawn sandwich from M&S
  • doing things more quickly
  • driving
  • wearing my normal clothes again

Oh.....and nice knickers Grin

4 weeks left and counting!

Midgetm · 09/06/2012 10:11

You'll can have a prawn sandwich... Go fill your boots.

RubberBandit · 09/06/2012 10:29

Forgot.....a huge slab of unpasteurised soft and gooey goats cheese!

38+4 so hopefully I can have it soon :)

McKayz · 09/06/2012 14:59

I've just thought of something. Orange juice!! I haven't been able to drink it for months as it is the worst thing for my heartburn.

I heart this thread. I may even make a list of things I want to do after the baby arrives and tape it to the fridge for motivation!

I will start with a diet, exercise, and (I hope) consequently fitting into my old size 10 wardrobe. At which point I will go shopping and buy something utterly sexy and un-mum like, and bugger off to the pub (babysitters providing).

In the pub i will drink a big wet ice cold gin and lemonade with lots of ice and lemon - several of them whilst sat in the sun. Followed by a Baileys and ice. By which point I will be slightly tipsy and I will collapse face first onto the bed and sleep on my stomach.

The next day (hangover permitting) i will be able to sit, stand, move, walk, talk, without grunting, groaning, moaning, having various pains, and running out of breath.

Ah bliss.

McPhee · 09/06/2012 16:31

'You'll can have a prawn sandwich... Go fill your boots.'

Can I??? How comes I got told no prawns then? I've been craving bloody prawns!

Bastards Hmm

WantAnOrange · 09/06/2012 16:38

Clothes that fit.

Wine/beer/gin and tonic/ home-made christmas pudding vodka that I never got to drink because I got pg in January! BAILEYS!

Really hot baths.

Sex that doesn't hurt or make me tearful (dunno what that's about, only happens when I'm pg Hmm)

Sleeping on my tummy.

No more back ache.

Being able to clean my house from top to bottom to get that lovely clean feeling that lasts five minutes. ATM I can put on one load of washing and then need a 2 hour nap.

Midgetm · 09/06/2012 16:43

mcphee you can have prawns as long as they are cooked. They are indeed bastards.

McKayz · 09/06/2012 16:48

Yes prawns are perfectly fine as long as they are cooked. I sometimes think the nhs change their minds about stuff but don't tell the midwives.

McPhee · 09/06/2012 16:56

The amount of prawn things I could have had before now makes me drool.

If I wasn't such a reasonable person, I'd be inclined to knee my MW in the chuff over this one Hmm Grin

missingmymarbles · 09/06/2012 19:28

Who said "a really hot bath"??
I want one of thoseGrin

And to run about with my 7 year old, without feeling like I am dying for lack of breath or pain, like I am trying to manoeuver an oil tanker, or like I am about to give birth. That makes it sound like I am managing to run about, despite the above: I'm not Hmm .

missingmymarbles · 09/06/2012 19:30

Oh, I want my less mardy self usual good humour back too. I am such a mardy cow at the minute.

Jessy17 · 09/06/2012 19:52

not being in pain, not having my partner tell me I'm naggy and over reacting at every slight thing that's said ;) most important having my 1st little boy/girl in my arms :)

swiftybaby · 09/06/2012 20:27

God I am the worst preggo ever, I have sushi, MR steak, red wine, the odd weak G and T and god forbid sometimes sleep on my right hand side.

Can't wait to have a very strong G and T and a fag!!

silvachick · 09/06/2012 22:56

A cocktail - any kind.

McPhee · 10/06/2012 14:07

I've had my M&S prawn sarnie, and by god it were good. I'd go as far as to say it was better than sex Grin

EdgarAllenPimms · 10/06/2012 14:20

as baby has gone from ROP to LOP overnight and shoved itself further down the tube in the process....

i want to able to walk without a hint of John Wayne.

on birthing ball
