Came into work today with bad IBS pains (my fault, ate a no go food last night)

Am 22 weeks and someone gave me a Peppermint and Fennel tea to try and help get rid of the pains.

Just Googled Fennel tea and it's really scared me, only had about 4 sips before checking but is it really bad/dangerous?

Oh GAWD. I've had loads of this over the last month (like at least two cups a day) and had no idea it was bad for you!

Holy cow. I've been so careful about avoiding booze and raw steak and all those lovely things and then the blasted fennel tea (which isn't even that nice!) proves to be a danger to the bean i've been nurturing for 5 months.

maples I am certainly not having any more - it's in the bin - but now v.nervous about what I've done to its endocrine system. Poor bean. :-(

Thanks guys, I'll steer clear as well, really glad I checked before gulping whole cup.

I know nothing about pregnancy (still!) but I swear there's some inbuilt thing in the brain about stuff to avoid. Something in me was saying, 'don't just drink, check first'.

Will go out in this god awful weather later to get some just Peppermint :)

Thanks for the reassurance Maples. tis much appreciated. Feeling very foolish and worried but trying to relax. I've counted out the teabags remaining in the box (I know - a world of craziness going on over here) and it seems I've had 10 tea bags over the last month. So not as bad as I thought.

fingers firmly crossed. poor bean.
