Does it mean anything much? 37 weeks and this is from yesterday's MW appointment.

Just that really the baby is 4/5s engaged, dd1 was fully engaged for weeks and she had to be induced (sorry don't want to dishearten you). Whereas dd2 didn't engage at all and was only 2 days late.

I think DD1 was fully engaged for a while too and also induced. I've forgotten everything this time! Not ready for a baby so glad it's not significant!

Is it that they have written 4/5 in the engaged column on your notes? Because that actually means 4/5 palpable.
DD was 2/5 palpable (written as 2/5 in the engaged part of my notes) at 36 weeks and came on her due date.

Yes, could be 4/5 palpable, you're right. Hopefully I've got at least a few more weeks to prepare then!

My baby was 4/5 for a few weeks and ended up being induced and 15 days late, doesn't seem to mean much I'm afraid! Good that they're head down though

I got excited when i was told i was 3/5 at 36 weeks thinkin i only had 4/5 then 5/5 to go but it actually means that they can feel 3/5 of the babies ahead above the pelvis so they consider 1/5 or 0/5 fully engaged!

ItsMyLastOne · 08/06/2012 21:14

If you were 4/5 engaged (so 1/5 palpable) you'd feel like you had a bowling ball sitting in your pelvis. Well I did anyway! I walked very strangely for those last few weeks, it was rather uncomfortable! Hmm
