I probably should have name changed for this but, what the hell...

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have had problems already with swelling in my leg, and fanjo due to the pressure and weight of the baby hippo . Today I noticed I have a couple of small but horrendously painful hemorroids. Blush

Have bought the Anusol cream and suppositories and praying that they get a bit better. This is just awful. Added to everything else I feel very miserable and extremely uncomfortable.

Anyone else suffering?

No, but I have been there and you have my sympathy. Piles suck arse Grin

McPhee · 07/06/2012 18:22

I was but anusol saved my arse Grin

Make sure you put it on regularly, after each time you've been to the loo. Also don't put anything like bubble bath in the bath because apparently it doesn't help. Drink plenty of water, eat well and hopefully they'll shrink away to nothing in a few weeks.

Good luck!

If anusol doesn't help the gp can give you something called Uniroid - its amazing stuff. I've been using it since 34 weeks and I'm now 38 wks - not completely better but better than it was!!

Iggly · 07/06/2012 18:27

I found germaloid much better - mild anaesthetic in it.

Plus loads of water and fibre so things dont chafe

Snowboarder · 07/06/2012 18:35

Thanks for your advice ladies! The worst thing is that I can't even tell DH for sympathy as I'm so embarrassed about it. I'm sure posh spice never had this problem. Grin

Im very cheered to read that with the proper treatment that they can improve. I had kind of feared that it was one of those 'it's going to get progressively worse until delivery' things, like the leg swelling.

Talking of chafing - I had meant to get some of that moist toilet tissue stuff today as I was stocking up on my Anusol and bloody forgot. Bah!

Disclaimer: I'm not a poo troll Blush

Wiggle - will make a note of Uniroid in case the over the counter stuff doesn't cut the mustard! Cheers.

I found the moist toilet tissue stung me Blush

In the end I was using wet cotton pads. You know, the ones for wiping off make up?

Snowboarder · 07/06/2012 19:20

Now those I DO have, McPhee! Cheers for the pointer.

I've had these since before I was pregnant, internal ones that have prolapsed. I'm use to them by now. I find a quick 5/10 minute warm bath after using the toilet really helps. You don't need a full bath either just enough to sit in and cover your bum.

AThingInYourLife · 07/06/2012 19:38

Sympathies :(

I find anusol pretty good for this particularly joyful aspect of pregnancy.

Wigglewoo · 07/06/2012 19:52

:) oh and johnsons baby wipes are good too.... You can take them to hospital for bum grape wiping after birth and say they are for the baby!

Five dried apricots each night washed down with a glass of tropicana with bits in.

Keeps you regular and soft so no straining.

They are awful. I shoved all 5 in at once with the drink ready and did the river dance til they where gone and downed by drink... but my bum thanked me for it.
