Really need advice. Am 14 weeks pregnant and for the last week to 10 days I have been suffering with a vulval varicose vein. I had it in the same place when I pregnant with DD, who is 3, and I was warned it would return in any subsequent pregnancies. It has already reached the point where if I am on my feet for too long, it is hugely swollen and agony. It's even sore to touch the skin lightly, it stings :( I can't stay off my feet as I have 2 DC's and work nights in a busy hospital ward. I haven't been offered any advice by my GP, other than to 'put my feet up'. I don't know what to do. Has anyone any experience or advice please? Thanks in advance.

Sorry I can't help, but didn't want to read and run. Hopefully someone will be aong shortly with more experience than me!

SC i am the master at living with vulval varices (and groins) joy of joys. Started about 26w last time, 16w this time. Vulva got to 4x normal size last time in 3rd trimester, standing was agony but walking was ok. Tried ice packs, good but warm up so quick. Sitting down best relief. Have got support tights (legs much worse this time also) (rupreggers.) this time and they seem to help. Also ordered hideous expensive maternity support shorts from SRC australia. Help but slip down, maybe too big. Also found usa pants that look like hideous chastity belt, cant remember name. Havent tried. Have seen ladies write to try thick pad in pants. Grabbing and squeezing helps. Not sure if i read instillagel local anaesthetic might help. Glad i am not alone. :-)
