Faint positive in doctor's test- waiting for blood results

Hi everyone

My boyfriend and I have been TTC since January, and on Monday I had a positive Clearblue pregnancy test, followed by a faint positive on a Boots own test on Tuesday. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and he did another test, the result took ages to come up and was only a very faint positive, which he said he's not seen before... If I am pg I'll be 4 weeks and 5 days right now. Anyway he sent me to the hospital for a blood test and I have to wait till tomorrow for the results.. have no idea what to expect.

I have got very sore boobs and sleeping badly, occasional pangs of nausea.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, or got any thoughts what the outcome might be?

Thanks!

Don't worry too much, tomorrow will be here soon. The blood test is the most accurate test you can have for pg. I had negative clearblue test but positive one with blood test. And the sore boobs and nausea are good signs. Keep us posted.

I did a Clearblue test on dd1 - I tested a bit early but still got a clear positive. When I went to the doctor the test he did only showed a very faint line.

He told me the ones doctors use are not as sensitive as the expensive home pregnancy tests.

DD1 is 6 now so the clearblue was correct Grin

Best of luck.

A positive clear blue result is a good sign. As others have said, the doctors tests are very basic and in many cases wouldn't be used quite as early as you have. Lots of people don't end up at the doctors till they're over a week late. The blood results will come up with a HCG figure and that can then be compared to what it should be for your stage of pregnancy. If there's any doubt the bloods can be repeated in a day or two as the HCG simply shoots up in the case of a continuing pregnancy.
