sex during pregnancy a no no?

When pg with ds was told no sex till 16 weeks (had had previous mcs though) this time I was told no sex until 12 weeks is recommended for everyone.

However the few times dh and I have done it recently I start bleeding - sorry if TMI - and while I'm not panicking too hard as it's not 'red' as such, I'm wondering whether it's not a good idea...

ive never heard that you should wait until you are past 12 weeks. I certainly didnt and am now 33 wks

I miscarried my first baby shortly after having sex and this made me paranoid during my second pregnant, although I had no proof that the two were linked. If you're worried about it, it won't harm you to have other types of non-penetrative sex until you feel happier.

I always believed that sex was fine troughout a normal pregnancy, with no reason to abstain unless there are problems.

I had a m/c before ds and so didn't have sex for a while when pg 2nd time but I don't remember being told not to??? I just decided not to risk it but that doesn't mean there's a risk ifswim.

I'd speak to Dr or midwife if I was bleeding though, just to see what they have to say!

I didn't have sex after I found out for ages, mainly because I felt as sick as a dog! But I would've done otherwise, then again I do pretty much everything you shouldn't when I'm pregnant (except the really bad things like drinking/smoking etc!)

We read all the books that said 'Go ahead and enjoy' and when I finally stopped vomiting and felt like it tried it and had a pretty big bleed. All was fine, they didn't tell me not to carry on but DP was pretty freaked out and so we have backed off.
Was hoping to be one of these rampant preggers women they write about but its probably lucky now that I'm not!!

I had sex on Sat and had a tiny bleed afterwards and some spotting yesterday. Don't know whether to knock it on the head until 12 weeks - should I call the mw? The spotting was v.slight and looks like it's stopped.
(Had sex once before last week without any bleeding)
