I am forty weeks and have had pain on and off for few weeks some mild some bad but had a sweep today. Have you any back pain as I think that's more of a sign than front pain alone, something about derive ripening? Any show or leaking waters? Maybe it is the beginning...

That's cervix not derive, silly iPad!

Oh dear, I do hope not! I just came on to ask the same thing, but I'm on 31 weeks! I'm not feeling 'low' though, if by that you mean baby's descended? I don't think it has anyway... I'm just getting period pains on and off, for probably only a matter of minutes at a time. I want to think it's braxton hicks, but aren't they supposed to involve tightening of bump? Had none of that alas.

I'll watch this thread with interest... !

I am 39 weeks and when I was about 32 weeks I started to get period type pain. My midwife said it was where baby was moving down as the head started to become engaged. I am still getting it now and baby's head is now nearly fully engaged so think it's all part of it and nothing to worry about but this is my first sao I am no expert!!

I am 33 weeks and getting ever so slight period pain, on and off. Have been doing for a couple of weeks. My specialist said this was a form of Braxton Hicks and nothing to worry about. Feels a bit odd though, having period pain after all this time without.

Thanks guys, very resuring! Babbashouse - I started with this pain at about 33 weeks and thought that was early so if I were you I would get this checked out just to be safe. I gotr checked out and I was having very mild contractions but they have died off now and I wasnt starting to dilate so they not worried!
Just want to get past next week until I am 37 weeeks then I will be happy for bambino to arrive - have to admit I have had enough now x

I will watch this too, as I am 34+2 with low down pressure, period pain and back pain. Quite intermittent though, certainly not regular or timeable, but this is the second time in a few days where I have a hot (not too hot) pack on my lower back. Had a consultant appt this afternoon and forgot to ask whether the head was engaged or not - doh! She is head down though.

Thanks weeze, seeing midwife today so will definitely bring it up then! Definitely in the similar boat re keeness to get her out asap but not too soon; from 37 weeks I'll definitely be transmitting strong 'ready when you are!' messages! x
