Completely exhausted, anyone else unable to prise themselves out of bed?

Hello, I haven't even found the energy to post about this since it began on Saturday.

I just could not get up.
Every day since then I have found it really, really hard to get out of bed. I sleep at night - sometimes waking during the early hours but just drifting in and out - and am in bed around 8pm.

the mornings are becoming really difficult - it's half term, the kids are coping fairly well and I am forcing myself to get up and go out once a day, for food and a walk and so on, depending.
But then I come home and get into bed again and stay there pretty much all day.

It's very strange - I have two kids already and never felt this tired even when I was anaemic with both, towards the third trimester.

I've been sent for a blood test now - got to go out and get the form, sob - and the Dr who rang me said is the bump bigger this time, I said yes but it's my third, and he said he thinks it might be twins. ARGH! So we have to wait for the scan.
I'm 8+3 - I am taking phenergan but I was taking it for four weeks before this began. So it can't ALL be that - or is it cumulative?

Just after some ideas really, anyone else who is going through this is welcome to post as is anyone who went through it before - or anyone who just fancies a snooze, climb in Smile

Thankyou Thanks

I was exhausted at that stage, completely knackered and couldn't keep my eyes open! Phenergan does make you sleepy though, so it might well be adding to the tiredness you would be feeling anyway.

Thankyou, that's good to know it can be like this with a single pregnancy...wasn't really hoping for more than one!

Hi Flightty, I'm massive too and only 7+4. None of my skirts/trousers do up and I'm in my maternity trousers. I'm trying to cover up my tummy so that no-one guesses until after my 12 week scan . I'm also exhausted and sleeping for hours at night and napping in the day. I've had a scan and am only having one baby.

I was sooooo tired in the first trimester, felt as though I was drugged and some nights I went to bed at 6pm and slept till 7am!

flightty · 06/06/2012 20:51

Oh wow guys...this is quite comforting!!! Smile

Katie - that's how I feel, like someone has given me sleeping pills! I guess the phenergan is probably partly responsible but rather this than feel sick, I suppose. I have to not drive when it's like this though, I'm just not safe - jumped a red light the other day. I just didn't react Blush

Spring! How lovely to see you. From what you described I would have thought, twins, especially as you felt rotten from so early on, too.

(hope things have settled down a bit?)

although at 7 weeks can they be totally sure there is only one??

Another thing I meant to ask, really, was how to cope - I mean I normally drive the kids to school, come back and collapse back into bed, but if I can't drive I'm going to be even more knackered from walking all the time.

I'm not entirely sure what to do if it goes on for much longer.

Counting the days down to 12/13 weeks...and hoping things improve because I really am not sure what I'm going to do.
