I'm a first time mum-to-be and the first out of my friends, so might be nice to hear from other local ladies!

Hi
I am in Beckenham, I'm due 2nd October with my 3rd, when is your due date? Where will you have your LO? Kings, Mayday or PRUH?

Sastra · 05/06/2012 16:46

Hi Retro! My due date's the 26th of October. I have no idea RE hospitals - we currently live in Bethnal Green and are due to move in a month or so, so I'll have to move everything over. Do you have any recommendations?

PRUH were lovely!!!
I just moved away from crystal palace :(

Sastra · 05/06/2012 17:37

That's reassuring to hear Roxy. Are you far from CP now?

This will be my 2nd delivery at the PRUH and I would definitely recommend them. I would avoid Mayday in Croyden, I've heard lots of horror stories from there although I think they're trying to change their image.

I'm in Beckenham, due in October with my first :) Currently researching homebirths, and alternating between that an PRUH.

Hello, not due in October but do live in Crystal Palace! My first baby is due in July and I've had my care at Kings. They've been fantastic throughout and I have every confidence in having my baby there in a few weeks time. I'll keep you posted :)

Sastra · 05/06/2012 18:05

Great to hear of positive experiences (and warnings!). I was going to have the baby at Royal London which is meant to be great, so was a little apprehensive about leaving the borough (not least as baba will now not be a cockney Grin).

When are you due bettybat? Do you guys know the sex?

Good luck Flickstar - let us know how you get, Kings is a great place! I had my 12 wk scan there, and they could not have been nicer!

Sastra · 05/06/2012 18:07

Hi Flixter, good to hear from you! I don't know much about CP - Im hoping it's going to be a good place to spend a year on maternity!

Sastra we had the 20wk scan last week and declined to find out!

Due October 16th and alternate between being actively looking forward to getting down to it, and thinking...holy shit Grin

bettybat · 05/06/2012 18:10

Oh forgot to say - I intend to spend a lot of time in the aquarium at the Hornium - looks like a really beautiful place to just amble around on maternity leave. It's in Forest Hill and it's free! (Apart from donations :) )

Flickstar · 05/06/2012 18:18

Crystal Palace will be an excellent place to spend a year on maternity! I can't wait- everything is so baby friendly!

Sastra · 05/06/2012 18:31

Hurray!

We have our 20w scan next Tuesday - I want to be excited but at totally bricking it Sad

I am having a boy and already have a girl, 4 and a boy of 2, it has to be a ELCS so will be born in September. I was in CP when I had my first and spent the majority of my maternity leave in the park or coffee shops, it was so lovely. We have now only moved down the road to Beckenham for schools and are still regulars at the Westow and when we have babysitters Joannas.
