Painful Braxton Hicks

I am 33w with baby 4. I've had Braxton Hicks since about 20w which have never bothered me much.

In the last 3 weeks or so they are getting so strong that they hurt. Not as painful as contractions, but enough to stop me in my tracks. Intensely tight and gripping. I saw my MW in the week - I made an extra appointment because I'd got to the point one evening where I thought that if the BHs got regular / more painful I was going to have to call delivery suite. All normal at the appoinment, no UTI, nothing to worry about.

So here I am again this evening, one or two BHs which are very painful, the rest just as normal... I just said to DH 'Do you think I'm going to make it to 40 weeks?' He smiled, and said nope :)

Has anyone out there had increasingly painful / tight BHs - particularly anyone who is pregnant with their 3rd / 4th? (I only say that because I didn't have BHs like this with 1, 2 or 3rd pregnancies and wonder if it is because its my 4th?)
