If it helps my lo has been mostly on the right side since around 28 weeks. All the movements, kicks and pokes are a that side. Although the occasionally take my breath they are prob more uncomfortable than painful so I havent really thought about it

I had this with first pregnancy except she was in right. I couldn't walk more than 20 meters or so in last couple of weeks and she was back to back as well as all on one side (though she turned right way during labour). Aquanatal classes persuaded her to move a couple of times for a couple of hours but she moved right back again. Hope you feel more comfortable soon.

Dd was head down n flipped from left to right spinning in her head on what felt like an hourly basis till the day she was born. I wouldn't worry too much. At ante natal classes the mw said during labour they'll reposition themselves for exit

Left is what you want as it means less chance of a back to back labour. Apparently babies nearly always turn clockwise so if on the right it is much higher risk they will be born the wrong way up which is usually more painful.

I am another one with a right side baby! And am in a lot of pain under my ribs that side. She was back to back not sure if she is now but she did a lot of twisting about yesterday. Am due in two days. Was told to only sit on hard chairs but I think every time I lie down she turns back so haven't stuck to it especially as it makes the rib pain worse.

StopEatingThatMud · 06/06/2012 16:57

Thanks babyg, should probably have said she turned 1 a couple of weeks ago, she's still as awkward as ever now! [Wink]

My second was on my left, I didn't really think about it as I was comfortable and having an elcs.

During the elcs it was discovered he was completely stuck, hence being on the left - and they needed a ventouse (within the section!) To get him out.
