Dizziness - what's normal and what isn't?

This pg has been totally different to my first. My first, apart from weeks 6 - 12 was, very easy. This one however....

Anyway, this afternoon I have been very dizzy and I'm not sure if it's normal pregnancy dizziness or something more. For example, I was standing up and looked up at the top shelf of a cupboard and was hit with a wave of dizziness. If I lie down I get dizzy too. Even shifting my head when lying down causes a new wave. I'm getting black spots in front of my eyes and feel like I've had way too much to drink. The room spins and I feel very unwell.

So... normal pregnancy dizziness or not? I only was dizzy during my first pg when I stood up and not at all apart from that.

Not sure about the black spots ? But I came over quite dizzy last week and really thought I was going to b sick but I wasn't! Then was really dizzy at my work I felt like I was going to fall over ! But passed within 20 mins it was horrible

How many weeks are you? Dizziness can be normal, in my experience anyway. Mine I think was down to low blood pressure, and low blood sugar if I don't eat sensibly. I would phone your midwife to check tho, they might want to see you to check you're ok.

In my first trimester I would get terribly dizzy when I stood up - had flashing lights and black spots and weird kind of convulsions... I had to grab onto something until they stopped.

I had also experienced this a bit in the past due to low blood pressure (plus I'm very tall and thin which apparently doesn't help). Eating more salt in my diet seemed to help!
