Hi Ladies,

I have just completed my 1st cycle of ICSI & PGD. DH and I were so excited to get our BFP result, we have been on this jorney now for 4 years. Here is my blog if you want to know more - ivfpgd-hope2011.blogspot.co.uk/

I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am bleeding quite heavily, only when I go to the toilet and pass urine. There is hardly any blood on panty liner, it only seems to be in toilet. The blood is red and also some clots are there. I have mild cramping in my tummy but not terrible pains.

My 1st HCG result was 189 and my 2nd was 269. I have called the hospital and asked for another blood test, I go back up on Monday.

I am hoping to hear some similar stores, I really hope my baby will be ok. I will be devastated if I lose it. The thought of IVF PGD again breaks my heart.

Any advice would be great xx

I wouldn't wait until Mon, could you ring your gp for advice or go straight to an A + E to get checked over?

NewMember · 01/06/2012 12:21

I went to my GP this morning for him to sign me off work. I had a chat with him and told him I was due back on Monday.

Basically I can't have a scan until I am 7 weeks. My scan is already booked for the 18th June. They have told me to rest and still have hope.

I am devastated and so so scared x

No, don't wait. At my local hospital Kings College (London) there is an EPU(Early Pregnancy) unit, where you can turn up and have a scan in a 'first come, first served way'. It is only open 9-5 though, and possibly Mon-Fri, so really do call your GP, and ask if there is one at your local hospital you can go to.

When I had bleeding with 3rd pregnancy it was 7 pm, and nice (but ultimately clueless) out-of-hours service doctor told me to go to the EPU unit - I did and it was shut, and 5 hrs waiting time at A&E.

So would advise not just turning up at A&E, the GP may be able to advise you of somewhere where the service is quicker.

I had some bleeding at 5 weeks with my second child - and it was fine. I know it is hard, but try not to second guess - call GP, insist to scary receptionists you need to speak to Duty Doctor and see where they recommend you go.

It is a horrid situation, I know, thinking of you and sending positive vibes across the internet.

Guess they can't 'see' anything until 7wks then, I had bleeding and a scan at 9wks and it was like a little kidney bean lol

Put your feet up on the sofa and watch rubbish day time tv and try to relax, keep us posted, and hope everything turns out ok for you x

I have spoken to both my doctor and the hospital hun and there not telling me to come in due to being only 5 weeks. They have booked me in for another HCG on monday to see if still rising or if I have already lost the baby! I don't have the words to describe how I am feeling. I and even trying to aviod going to the toilet as the blood is so upsetting x x

Hi, I was very similar, after lots of bleeding I asked for a scan and had one that day (privately) and I was only 6 weeks and she confirmed it was all ok but there was more blood she could see but thought the baby was fine.
I kept bleeding for a while, stopped then started again at 15 weeks quite heavily, went and had scan at emergency (moved me to obstetrics) and again it was all clear with no idea what caused the bleeding.
This is my third pregnancy with bleeding.
Good luck, remain positive!

Thank you hon, that helps! Did you have clots in the blood too? When did it stop? So scared my HCG has fallen. Monday will bring us some answers. I just hope it brings Joy too xx

I had small clots, looked like a period and lots of pink discharge. Enough to convince myself I had miscarried every time. It really sucks. Def pay for a scan for your peace of mind.

NewMember · 01/06/2012 13:01

Yea it looks like a period too. I have went from pink to red and sometimes back to pink. I'm still to early for a private scan, they said they would not see anything at 5 weeks x

A very close friend of mine had bleeding sometimes heavy for the first few months of her pregnancy and now has a lovely little girl so keeping everything crossed. Also had a scan at six weeks+1 and could clearly see egg sack and there was a tiny heartbeat.
Have you thought about doing a home pregnancy test. When I had a MC earlier this year I went from positive test in the morn to negative one only a few hours after heavy bleeding started ... everyones body reacts differently I guess but if I was you I would be peeing on a stick! Goodluck Goodluck. xxxx

NewMember · 01/06/2012 14:31

The bleeding was awful on Wed and the hospital carried out another blood test. My HCG still rose by 100. I am so confused by it all xx

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you are bleeding. Any bleeding in pregnancy is scary but it seems relatively common and many many mums on here have experienced bleeding and all has been fine.

That said I would defintely call your GP without delay and get some advice. If you are pushy you may be able to get them to take action on the NHS but if not and you want to put your mind at easeyou can arrange a private scan. Hope evrything is ok.

beginnersluck · 01/06/2012 14:42

I had bleeding and cramps at 5 weeks. Was advised to go to A&E. They said it was not a miscarriage. I had an nhs scan the next day and saw a heartbeat! Some of the bleeding really freaked me out though. Implantation bleeding, apparently.

Ds is now 4months...

Fingers crossed for you.

Just a quick one ladies as I am just home.

I have been in hospital for the last 7 hours I am drained, sore and very emotional. The bleeding and the pain got so bad hubby took me to A&E. They hooked me up to a drip and gave me some fluids, probably due to the amount of blood I have lost. To be honest, I am not really any further forward. They have given me three options. 1 - I will continue the pregnancy but possibly bleed a little more 2 - I will have early miscariage 3 - I will have ectopic pregnancy. They did give me an internal and at the moment my cervix is still closed so that is a good sign. They thought about keeping me in but I promised to go back up if our situation got worse. I am on bed rest until Monday, I will then go back up for another HCG test!

I have nothing else to give! I need a break xxx

Oh poor you. Try to remain positive, good luck.

Oh NM, what a horrible, scary weekend you're having!
Let us know how it goes on Monday. Thinking of you and crossing fingers for option one.
