2nd pregnancy..SPD is back :( at 15weeks

I suffered with SPD with my 1st pregnancy (2.3 years ago) and funnily enough even went back to my GP about a year ago, as my left hip makes a funny grinding/ clicking noise with every step taken, he dismissed it and said it was nothing (do you think this should have been investigated?)

I am now 15 weeks pg with no 2, and the last couple of days (more painful at night) have noticed my SPD is back, i still have the support belt (but wasn't much help 1st time around), i am suffering mostly at night, turning over in bed is horrific...can't believe i have it so early this time around (1st preg got it at 30 weeks)

I have searched in current and archived messages, but wondered if there was any other advice to be given on this?

TIA

Have you tried turning over onto your front, then to the other side, rather than onto your back IYSWIM? I found that easier (someone on here suggested it).

Other than that, I just found taking it as easy as poss did really help, and following the usual advice about how not to move (I assume you know this if you've had it before). There was another thread recently about SPD here . I found the support belt I bought was better than the one the physio gave me BTW (for photo see the thread I linked to!).

i had spd and 19 months on,im still clicking and grinding.i thought the support belts were useless.i had the wide one under my clothes and the narrow on top of my clothes.physio helped at first but as bump got bigger,it was too painful to have it done.have you tried one of them long pillows for when your in bed?

trace2 · 21/02/2006 18:42

lulumama · 25/11/2006 13:24

have done some links for you on the other thread xx

why not start a thread yourself asking for support and advice from fellow sufferers xx

danf · 25/11/2006 13:37

thanks not really been on the internet before dont really know wat i am doin, dont know how to set a link up.

lulumama · 25/11/2006 14:44

Danf- at the top , where it says 'Mumsnte Discussions : pregnancy'. there is an option to click to start a new conversation , click on that and write the title

eg

in the long line ....type

'SPD - how do you cope? any tips ?'

and then fill in the big box with whatever other info you want

HTH!
