When did your baby go from basket to cot?

I think my 5 week old is getting too big for her basket already, I'm thinking about bringing her cot into our room instead as I think she'll be more comfortable! When did yours go from basket to cot?

I moved my DD from her moses basket to cot at about 9 weeks, she was a small baby but very active and kept bashing the sides of the moses basket and waking herself up. She sleeps so much better now she is in the cot.

Mine was 3 months as that was when he outgrew it, so it was down to how well he fitted not his age etc. His cot was next door and stayed in there, as I heard him the second he was disturbed and attended him immediately anyway, so never felt he needed to be in our room.

I know people who have had baby in cot in separate room from day one and some who are co-sleeping beyond 1yo.... all are happy with their parenting choices so think whatever gets you and baby the best sleep is what you should go with. :)

Mine has refused to go in his moses basket since 3 weeks old :(
We have a crib next to our bed. It's a bit more spacious than a basket and ought to last till about 4 months or so. Unfortunately doesn't solve the problem of the daytime nap though, that's what we wanted to happen in the basket.

3 months - she weighed 5kg and was too long! Still in our room though, in the big cot by the bed - but further away during the night than when she was in her basket.

At 6 weeks we moved dd1 into her floor bed in her own room. Improved our sleep a lot

Our moses basket was a pretty big one (more like a crib) - moved DS when he was about 20 weeks.

We had a crib rather than a basket. DD slept in her pram for the first few weeks (cried everytime we put her in the crib). She was in the crib from about 4 weeks until maybe 5 months when we put her in her cot in her own room.

I'm now 9 weeks pregnant with DC2 and DH is already suggesting the cot will be used a lot sooner this time - we will see ;)
