Uterus feels fuller on one side than the other - normal??

I'm 17+4 and when I lay on my back I can feel that my uterus is now up to my belly button nearly. I can also feel it bulging out on the right hand side and the left side is less prominent / feels empty.

Is this normal? Is it where the baby is?

Also I'd started feeling flutterings for definite the day before yesterday, but then yesterday I felt hardly anything that I could definitely say was baby. Is it normal to go a while between light movements in the beginning?

Thanks in advance!

I'm 20w and I've had a lopsided belly on a regular basis for the last few weeks! It's much more obvious if I'm laying on my back in bed and the baby seems to favour the right side!! Normal for me I suppose!

Oh, and I too started with light flutterings maybe once or twice a day, I was on holiday and it was usually in the evening when I settled down quietly... A few weeks later and it doesn't seem to stop for long now, regular kicks throughout the day... It's a boy and takes after its dad I think! Great feeling isn't it?! Grin

I wonder what is so snuggly about our right hand sides...Hmm

Thanks Kelsbells Smile

It is a great feeling, can't wait to start feeling them more frequently and strongly. I seemed to feel loads as I say watching tv on tues night and last night maybe a couple of little twitches but they weren't definitely the baby.

Maybe the fact that it's obviously snuggled into my right hand side is making it more difficult for me to feel movement.

Grin ooh, I don't know... It can't be more comfortable that side as my snuggly, comfortable padding seems to have been distributed generously and evenly over the last few weeks Blush..... It won't be long before you stop thinking is that wind?? or movement?? And start wondering if you've got a whole five a side team in there?! I think we're pretty lucky to be feeling it so early, I know my placenta is right at the back so I think that helps keep the front clear for baby attack! Smile

It's so bizarre. I think I though because of the way they look on the scan that they literally lie horizontally across your tummy Blush

Naive first timer alert!!

It is great though. I'm finally, 13 weeks after finding out I was pregnant, starting to feel like there is actually something in there Grin

My 5 week old was always on my right and that's the only place I got stretch marks the little tinker!

That's normal for the movements I felt my little one at nearly 20 weeks then nothing for a few days, I was in a right panic!!

Lopsided belly totally normal and at this age they are so small and weigh so little they really do have to be in just the right place for you to have any hope of feeling them.

At 20 week scan with DS and with this one both were moving all over the place and I was totally oblivious, even when watching DS do a somersault!
