Breastfeeding tops

Do I really need them? I do plan to bf, but the mw gave me the bf-ing talk at my last appointment and said at least initially it's good to have the baby inside your top for skin-to-skin; plus I've seen friends just hitching up their tops, with a discreetly-placed muslin or scarf if in public. So are they necessary or just another way for manufacturers to make money? And if I do need them, where can I get inexpensive ones in larger sizes?

didireallysaythat and aliphil I think those Emma Jane tops look great- much closer to the bravado 35 quid one than mothercares. Great price too- i'll be remembering that tip for this baby..

The Emma Jane tops do look great, but unfortunately I am a size 20 so even their size 18-20 might be a bit tight! Maybe I'll try one and see, if I can find a local-ish stockist.

Maybe worth giving the vests a go. I bought size 10 and I'm a size 14/12 on a good day, 34 SD. I think I bought mine on amazon but eBay is a wonderful place. Don't suppose Tesco with their double voucher thing sell them, do they ?

Word of warning though, if you don't look forward to looking like a milking machine, black vests are better than white. The white ones show everything....
