7 weeks to go and im thinking of starting raspberry leaf tablets.
this is my 3rd baby took them with other DC and DS was 10 days over and DD was 2 days over. Anyone else on them or anyone think i should wait a while?
I know they dont put you into labour as there used to help tone up womb and help regulate contractions when they do start.

From memory I think I started taking Raspberry Leaf at 34 weeks - DS was born at 39 weeks weighing 8lb 6oz.

Am now pregnant with DC2 and planning to take it again from 34 weeks.

But I'm not taking the tablets, I'm drinking the tea, so not sure if there is a different in strength.

From what I've read you can take them right from the beginning if you wanted, I'm pretty sure 33 weeks will be fine Smile

thanks ladies :) needles they say the tablets is stronger but not sure if this is true.

sorry for the thread hijack but can someone explain to me what they do? Do they help contractions in some way? I've always been a bit confused as to what they are supposed to help with and didn't have any with ds but am now nearly 36 with dc2 and anything that will help get her out quicker when the time comes would be good!

Smile that is very interesting, thanks needles. My second stage was 3.5 hours last time and resulted in episiotomy/ ventouse delivery which I would most keen to avoid this time. I think I shall buy some capsules today and start giving it a go. I have had no other complications so it sounds worth it!

My midwife said usually they recommend taking Raspeberry Leaf (in either tablet or tea version) from 37 weeks as that is when you are classed as term. My DH is not due back from overseas until the day before I am due and they have recommended I do not take it until he is home as they know of a few women where it has brought labour on, therefore I am avoiding it as really want DH back in time if possible!
