Third pregnancy, just over 11 weeks and I'm SURE my belly is growing outwards slightly. I don't think it's weight gain as I've had pretty nasty 'morning sickness' until recently. Could be wrong though, I suppose. Has anyone else started showing this early?

I did with my first, definite bump at 11 weeks but not so you'ld notice in average clothes, but naked or in swim wear it was definitely there!

minipie · 28/05/2012 16:35

I have a small bump at 12 weeks, and have done for a couple of weeks, but I think it's mostly bloating rather than baby, as it seems to depend a lot on (TMI) how recently I went to the loo...

I know it can't be the actual baby but my muscles must be all slack and bulgy from recent pregnancy. Hmmm - feeling gigantic.

I reckon I've been about a month or so ahead size wise in this pregnancy than I was last time.

I am 10 weeks & feeling huge too, am paranoid that people are noticing before I'm ready to tell.

This is my 2nd pregnancy & I didn't go into maternity clothes till 14/15 weeks 1st time but will be in them before then this time.

I have heard you show 4 weeks ahead in subsequent pregnancies - seems to be true for me!

PollyIndia · 28/05/2012 20:29

Mine was definitely showing by 12 weeks - to me. The shape of my tummy muscles had changed and curved outward. I 'popped' at about 15 weeks. It was literally overnight - guess it's when the uterus moves out of the pelvis... is it??
I've only just succumbed and bought proper maternity clothes yesterday (I am nearly 23 weeks) though I've been using a rubber band with my jeans and wearing jersey t-shirt dresses that don't have a defined waist. I'm short, so defining the bump works better on me than smocky thing which just make me look like a barrel.
It's tricky though, pregnancy dressing.
Oh also, my bump often changes in size depending on if I need a pee or I've eaten a lot. I guess it's the other organs being full pushes out the uterus isn't it?

soandsosmum · 28/05/2012 20:34

Ah this is what I meant to say in my post. Thank goodness I'm not the only one. 4 weeks ahead Seems about right for me. Does this mean I'll be bigger at 40 weeks? I hope not!

Pochemuchka · 28/05/2012 20:38

11 weeks?! Ha! I'm on pregnancy number 3 and by my estimation I'm only about 8 weeks and my waist is already looking a bit thicker. :(
With pg 2 I showed really early but I think it was all bloat and once that settled down I was small until 30 + weeks.
Am dreading trying to hide it at work though as we aren't allowed to wear dresses or skirts.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 28/05/2012 20:50

I popped at 5 weeks with dd (2nd) I think my stomach just thought oh crap not again and gave up the ghost. I looked about 5 months pg straight away. Didn't get any bigger till 16 weeks though!

bunbabybun · 28/05/2012 20:53

I bought my first maternity item at 11weeks when my jeans got too uncomfortable to wear after my tummy started swelling, either bloating or baby. It was probably only just noticeable to others from about 14/15 weeks onwards though. I am almost 18 weeks now and sporting a prominent bump.

AKE2012 · 28/05/2012 20:54

As soon as my sis got confirmation on her second her tummy swelled. Shes bout 2 months n looks bout 4.

Dont think it has much of an affect on how u will b at 40 weeks. I lost weight for bout first four months through sickness n all of a sudden my tummy popped out at 7 months.

Remember every pregancy is different. Theres no right or wrong.

15wks and definitely showing - had a student I don't teach ask me if I was pregnant today (although weirdly none of the kids I teach have yet...) and I think that happened a bit later when pg with my DD. I also didn't wear maternity jeans until 20wks with her, although I think I was possibly in maternity work trousers by now, if not just bigger ones, yet this time I had to opt for the work trousers at about 10wks. Although perhaps if I hadn't already had them, I would have endured the other ones a bit longer? Anyway, 4wks bigger sounds about right - although I'll be comparing the bump photos later to check Wink

On the plus side, already feeling movement so figure there are some advantages to the weaker muscles??!! Grin
