Maternity Leave - When do You Start Yours?

Hi All

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and due to start my maternity leave at 38 weeks. At 36 weeks I am using annual leave to go down to half days for 2 weeks.

This heat and sitting in an office all day is not doing me any favours and I feel like crap!

How many weeks will you be when you start your maternity leave? I still have 2 months of 40 hour weeks and I am beginning to wonder if I will cope with that.

Advice?

TYIA!!!

I've been really lucky with my due dates because, despite being a teacher & not having the option of annual leave etc, with my DD I stopped work just before 37wks at the Easter break, she was born 39+3 (just 2 days into my actual ML) and this due date means I'll be around 36wks when the holiday starts, & 38wks ish when my ML starts. At least I'm only working part time now too!!

I'm PrincessFlippingHuge now....but then you know that!

Frilly I think your plan sounds like a good one.

With DS I finished at around 34 weeks, he was born at 39 weeks.

Now with DC2 I'm not working, am a SAHM, so will go 'off shift' the minute my mum comes to mind DS so I can go to hospital in labour to give birth to his little bro or sis Grin

I'm not intending to finish before 38weeks but I did have to finish at 32wk with DS. I only work pt in a sit down job so really want to go a long as I can! Grin

Hi chunky! How you doing?!

celebmum are you really a celeb? Hmm I'm intrigued! Oooh, are you Kylie? I think she should have a baby. Her perfect figure is far too annoying (no offence if you are her...you have a nice bum...)!

Hi celeb doing ok thanks, you? Worried DD has rubella now but as we've both been immunized its very unlikely, but you know, hard not to worry!!! Are you/did you find out the gender? :)

Definitely think that, of you can, work as late as possible, but that's only if your job & health are good!!
