Less movement as it's hot anyone...?

I may be being neurotic, so thought I'd ask the MN masses to see what they think.

I am 37 weeks and have been feeling less movement over the last five days or so, so am wondering if it's worth calling the pregnancy unit about it or it may simply be as it's hot / there's less room in there. I am a Type 1 diabetic too so had a scan last Weds and mentioned it then but, due to the results of the scan which was all fine, nobody seemed too concerned although I am under strict instructions to call back asap if anything changed dramatically.

The problem is, is this to be expected in this weather and at this stage...? I am keeping a close eye on things today so see how things pan out, but am interested in others' views.

Call them. Now. Please don't ignore reduced movements. Odds on all is absolutely fine but the unit it there for that very reason. They see hoards of women like you all day long and they will be very happy to see you there rather than stay at home worried.

Ah. Okay then.
Bugger.
I was just calming down too!

Call.

Never leave this. All is more than likely to be fine, but get the reassurance please.

Good. Sorry, didn't mean to alarm you! As I said, most of the time reduced movements are just one of those things e.g. you're too busy to notice, baby's position etc, but they should always be checked out. Let us know how you get on Smile.

Thanks all. Will keep you posted (hopefully when back in an hour, with my mind at rest...!)

I've noticed this too over the last 3 days (am only 21 weeks but had been feeling kicks consistently for 2-3 weeks now)

I know that you don't generally have to worry before 22-25 weeks but am still worrying a bit. Should I be worried? check with MW too?

Plus I had a glass of wine and soda on Sat night, she's moving a bit less, so now I feel like a monster! Sorry to jump on your post OP :)

babysaurus · 28/05/2012 14:27

I had two small glasses of wine on Saturday tooo, Spice, so that must mean we're both monsters! Actually, I wouldn't worry too much about that unless the wine glass was the size of a bucket!

I wish Babysaurus! Though I did feel a bit tipsy and had a fuzzy head from it on Sun. Ah, the amount I used to be able to get through............

I went in yesterday after calling about reduced movements, it's much better to get it checked they told me.

They did tell me to drink 2 pints of ice cold water incase of dehydration from the heat and lie on my left side for 45 mins and if no movement to go straight in - I'm only 23 weeks.

Good luck, sure it's nothing.

I had wine on Fri night! Maybe in this heat alcohol should be avoided?? Seems weird we all drank wine (I had 1 glass of red with dinner) and then we all have reduced movements!
