Acne

Hi all
I'm 6+2 and my face has erupted. I'm not talking the odd spot, I'm talking lots and lots of active and angry acne, around my mouth, chin, cheeks and neck. I'm prone to hormonal acne anyway but this is ridiculous and is making me really depressed and not want to go out or talk to people. Anyone else suffered acne during pregnancy and did it go away?? I know there are worse things in life than having acne but it's really getting me down :(

I'd never had bad skin before (even as a teenager!) but my face erupted with spots in my first trimester, it cleared up around 14 weeks although I still got an occasional spot so hopefully you will find the same once your hormones begin to settle. Unfortunately I then had them again after having DS so make sure you get lots of photos the first few days following the birth, I think it was day 3 my face exploded again! Fingers crossed for you that you don't have the same, but I'd prefer to warn you.

Im lucky. being pregnant is the only time when my face clears up! but to fix it i use panoxyl and then e45 on top n it goes x

I had bad acne with dd, now 4- it took a while to calm down, and my skin was certainly worse after pregnancy than before, but nothing like as bad as it was during pregnancy.

I am now 7+4 with this baby, up until now my skin had been quite dry, so I was hopeful of a different pg. But no :( big sore spots. Miserable.

Am off to the chemist to get panaqua gel, as this has worked previously for me.

I had vile acne on my chest and back in the early stages of this pregnancy, but it has cleared up completely now (I'm about 17 weeks). The same thing happened when I was pregnant with DS.

Thanks all :) Really appreciate your replies and support. Good to know i'm not the only one and that it does go away... Couldn't find any panoxyl but did get some quinoderm which is benzyl peroxide as well so fingers crossed...

Me. Mine erupted at about 8 weeks I think. I have acne anyway (PCOS) but it had been better for the past year or so, then at 8 weeks got really awful. So you have my sympathy.

I am now 12 weeks and I think (fingers crossed) it is starting to improve.

Benzoyl peroxide does help. I have heard that Zineryt (presciption only) is ok in pregnancy too.

On a more frivolous note I have found that Garnier's BB Cream seems to help cover it up.
