To see if baby had grown any more past 95th centile. Im borderline as im 7.8 and the max is 8. (whatever that mean?). I only got a small excess of fluid around the baby but its a big baby. my first was 12 days late and 9.1lbs, my second was 9 days late and was 9.3 and a half lbs.

At 24 weeks baby was on 95th centile but came back down to 90th till now it shot back up.

If baby had grown more, what will happen next? I wants a vbac and try to avoid a section.

Thanks

Just marking my place as interested to see what answers you get. I'm also hoping for Vbac, DS was 9lb 8oz born at 38+5 and this one is measuring 33 weeks when I'm only 28.

Hope you get the answers you want.

Well I measured 38 at 42+3 and had a 10lb 6oz baby despite telling me repeatedly the baby wasn't big...

Did you have a section with the first 2 and is so why?

SisterMaryStigmata · 26/05/2012 22:25

I measured 40 weeks at 37+6. They predicted baby was at 10lb 12oz, and also saw excess fluid - as I'd had a previous caesarean they would not risk induction as they worried about the weight of the baby plus the weight of the excess fluid and what it could to to the scar. I was booked in for an ELCS at 38+5. I know that probably isn't what you want to hear, though!

Random - I had an emerg section with my first cos she was facing in the wrong position in the birth canal. My 2nd was natural birth.

Sister - what was the birth weight in the end?

I was measuring 2cm over from about 28w. Baby was expected to be about 9.7 -10.7lbs

He was born 11.7lbs. Attempted homebirth but ended up having a forceps delivery in theatre. Even if you're having a giant baby like me, a vaginal birth should still be possible (no previous CS for me though)

SisterMaryStigmata · 29/05/2012 21:38

Sorry, should have mentioned that! No where near what they expected (11lbs ish by the time we got to delivery day...) Baby was 8lbs 7oz, not really a whopper! However, the excess fluid/ polyhydramnios still warranted the elcs. I was a bit peeved they got the weight so wrong, but it is just a prediction I suppose :)
