Hi all-
So I got in a stress when ttc, now I'm pregnant and getting in a stress again! Im a bundle of nerves!!

I'm 6 wks- have had some cramp like feelings in my tummy today- not crippling pain, I guess I'd say mild stomach cramps. I've been worried about it but I've not had any bleeding at all- I keep checking! Did anyone else have this? If I mc at 6 wks is it fairly likely that I'd be bleeding / spotting by now?

Thanks,
Wishful x

Very common. I always get what feels like I am about to start my period for the first couple of months when I have been pregnant.

I get this (4th pregnancy now), I assume it's the uterus stretching. Don't worry too much but midwives are always happy to reassure so could always give them a call!

I had this, it was stretching pains. I've had them every so often throughout my pregnancy so far. Sounds very normal

hotheels · 25/05/2012 19:32

I had this with all 3 of mine very scary buy very common. It's your uterus stretching out according to twoweekwait.com good luck Smile

Congratulations Wishful - I am 6 weeks along as well and been experiencing similar pains on and off, along with associated paranoia (had an early MC a few months ago)

I've also had the occasional ligament-type pain - was turning over in the night and had a fairly sharp muscular pain, as if straining yourself from doing sit-ups or something. Can only imagine (hopefully!) that this is normal too.

It is so hard not to worry about everything. I started worrying my symptoms had disappeared, but I think I have actually just got used to the boob pain, tiredness, lack of appetite etc and am just slightly less aware of them!

Thanks girls- I feel a bit reassured. From what I have read it does seem that spotting / bleeding accompanied with cramps is the thing to watch out for and I've had none of that so far.

I have a sad question- I hope it's not too insensitive. I read (DF tells me I need to stop reading about mc now!!) that some people can have their 12 wk scan to find that they actually mc a number of weeks ago. Is this common? That must be awful. In those cases why would there have been no spotting? And how will I know if that happens to me?

X

Google is NOT your friend atm, leave it alone. Your DF is right.

Yes it happens. I too was very worried about this as I had previously had a miscarriage too. But everything was fine and ds is 9 now! I know nothing will stop you worrying but you will scare yourself silly if you keep looking for information on this. It's so hard but please just try to relax. But I do understand your anxiety I really do and I NEVER do that on MN!

applepieinthesky · 25/05/2012 21:38

I think it's normal as long as you are not in pain and are not bleeding you should be fine. For several weeks I felt really sensitive down below like I do before my period is about to start so I was worried but it turned out ok.

About the 12 week scan. If you have had no bleeding or bad pains the risk of finding out you have miscarried is tiny. It's something like 2% so try not to worry too much.

i was sitting 'doing my research' this morning and I came to the conclusion that although google is USUALLY my best friend.... right now he's my worst enemy. I have to keep reminding myself the odds of everything being fine far outweigh the problems.... (im going to start using it a my mantra every morning!!)

justhayley · 25/05/2012 23:38

I had it until 7 weeks it's horrible! If ur worried there's no harm going and getting an early scan just to check everything's doing what it should be.
Congratulations xx
